A nice interview with David Crosby about Jerry

Forums:

From the start of Phil & Friends I always wanted to see the Cros play with Phil and hear him sing those Jerry ballads.

He would have absolutely killed them.

It almost happened this past March, but it should have happened sooner. Maybe it still will.

Anyway, it's a good interview...

"Well, they invented a whole new kind of music and they played a whole bunch of it really well."

Amen to that

Thanks for sharing Lance

Cool interview. I especially liked this line from Crosby about Garcia: "If I had had to pick somebody to represent musicians to the world and to the universe, I would have picked him. He cared about the right things."

I have one of the Printed & numbered posters from Phil & Friends with Crosby,  from cancelled Port Chester run.

Unfortunately,  those shows never happened.

Still,  there is Phil and DC music from way back,  which is Good Stuff.

And one from Graham Nash.  I was at the Buffalo 1990 show Graham says it was the last time he saw Jerry and laments about how much the scene and crew had changed

Glad to see croz bust up the old chestnut about the gd learning harmony from csn.... the media is just a series of stupid narratives on a loop

Highly Recomended:  David Crosby: Remember My Name

With unflinching honesty, self-examination, regret, fear, exuberance and an unshakable belief in family and the transformative nature of music, singer-songwriter David Crosby shares his often challenging journey.   Producer:  Cameron Crowe

Starz Cinema (East)

Saw this twice, probably will again.  Says  "God Bless Jerry Garcia" as he walks past of photo of them in his home after they cleaned up in the mid 80's.

If the musical chemistry between Jerry and Crosby was so darn magical, how come they rarely collaborated after Crosby's 1971 album?

Hard drugs on both their part.
