The NFL playoffs actually have been good this year

Forums:

Not notably the biggest football fan but I have actually been enjoying watching some good games this year. Last year seemed like every game was pretty terrible but this year is on he contrary. Now, besides what I expect to be a lopsided event in foxboro this weekend the nfc championship game should be closely contested like all the nfc games so far. Should be fun to watch. Whether it’s Vikings/eagles vs patriots in the super bowl that should also be another good game.

Agreed, aside from the Titans-New England blowout, all the divisional playoff games were entertaining football.

The Patriots/Jaguars game may or may not be lopsided. While it's hard to look past the Patriots ongoing greatness and the experience they have in games like these, people often overlook the impact that GREAT defense brings in games like these, and the Jaguars have a GREAT defense.

If Bortles can just play decently and not make the disastrous mistake and the Jags play their best on defense they could make that game very interesting.

I think the Vikings will grind the Eagles down and sweep them away. With Foles at QB the Eagles offense is pretty bad and their defense is good but not good enough.

Ultimately I think the Patriots will figure out ways to force Bortles into making one or more of those disastrous mistakes, so we'll probably see a Patriots/Vikings Super Bowl, which should be a good match.

I thought both games yesterday were great NFL playoff games, and both losing quarterbacks played like the future HOFers they are. Both Roethlisberger and Brees threw some unbelievably great passes under intense pressure and players on both sides were making great plays all over the field; it was a shame to see either team lose in both those games.

As a fan I generally root for the fans of a team more than the team itself, and I always hate to see a game lost because of a mistake or blunder, so while I was really happy for Vikings fans and their joy at winning on a last-second miracle play, I was also feeling really bad for Saints fans yesterday. They've suffered through a lot of brutal losses over the years, but that one may be the worst. That's the type of loss a true fan will feel for decades, and take to their graves.

I like the Vikings, they're a classic old-school football team and their fans have suffered many brutal losses themselves, and I also admire Brady and the Patriots because I love to watch true greatness, so if that's the matchup I'll be rooting for a good game that is won, not lost.

It'll be fun to watch next week to see what actually happens.

ESPN would have to hire some chemists.

Sunday AM Lab Report

Jags ain't no joke. I got Vikes and Jags next week (Went 3/4 w no spread last week)

Willie McCovey is my favorite baseball player of all time.

I believe he was mentioned a second time in a peanuts strip, but am not 100% sure.

Thank you for posting that.

I can't tell you how many times I watched that last play over and over again.

I agree. But if was the Eagles, that would be a good game too.

Jags do have great d but they are coming off a bad performance. They have to play much better to beat Brady and co. I would love to see them win but i dk

I like the eagles at home. Their d is playing just as good as any team in the playoffs.

saints/vikes was nuts.

feel bad for drew cool brees. played well.

^^^Eagles Home game is 1000miles away

Caaaan't Wait to see Jags dispose of Tom Lady

Gotta feel for Brees. He won the game, the d lost it. One of the craziest plays I ever watched, actually.

Saint fan here. They beat us.

I think we are going to get a Patriots vs Vikings superb owl

byes,bbuck.

Sacksonville gonna bust that old man ass

>>Eagles Home game is 1000miles away

Are you referring to the Super Bowl?

Eagles are home against the Vikings on Sunday.

^^^You are right , my bad

Eagles at home will level the playing field, should be a great game.

Agreed.  I'm looking forward to the Patriots/Jaguars next weekend... lifelong Patriots fan here.  My new office is in Foxborough.  I put some money on the team this year to win over 12 1/2 games which was a winner and had them covering the spread last week.  Gonna let it ride.

If it’s ok with you guys, I’d like to rejoin the Sports folder. It’s what I miss most about the original Zone.

As a Jets fan I never have any stake in this game. It looks like another Pat's SuperBowl. Brady can then retire and the NFL can move onto the next franchise. What team is going to hire Patricia?

No way Pats win SB this year...I don't think they'll get to it.

^ I understand what you're getting at, Felina.  This year's team is surely not an all-time great Pats team and we're missing some of our big guns on offense (Edelman, Mitchell).  I think it's a bit naive though to say there's no way they will win.  There is a way... and it is only two wins away.

>>What team is going to hire Patricia?

Giant.. right?

Giants are going to hire Pat Shurmur from the Vikings ^

Patricia to Lions

McDaniels to Colts

Shmurmurmurmur to Giants

Giants gotta hire somebody. Got ugly this year.

>>>Giants gotta hire somebody. Got ugly this year

Yes, they do. It’s Pat Shurmur. Murmur.

The titans coach name was Malarkey. I loled

I think McDanials is going to fuck the colts and sign with tennesee, and it couldn't happen to a more deserving owner

Brady hurt his throwing hand in practice.  Or is this just Fake News put out by Vegas/ the Evil Empire?  We're Thru the Looking Glass, People . . .

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/page/32for32xconferencechampinjuries/nfl...

"Tom Brady was limited in practice Wednesday because of a right hand injury, according to the team's participation report. He has been on and off the injury report this season -- for an Achilles and his left shoulder -- but this is the first time he has been on it for his throwing hand. According to a report from the Boston Herald, the injury occurred when one of Brady's teammates accidentally ran into him and jammed his hand. X-rays were taken but revealed no structural damage. Veteran backup Brian Hoyer is the Patriots' only other quarterback"

>>>one of Brady's teammates accidentally ran into him and jammed his hand<<<

Any Patriots come up missing this evening? ("He sleeps with the fishes")

>>>Veteran backup Brian Hoyer is the Patriots' only other quarterback<<<

That'll give Patriots fans nightmares.

Another great game, Jacksonville making the Pats sweat.
