Newish and clever Oregon license plate

Forums:

I'm heading to the DMV in the morn for my REAL ID appointment.

Cruising around on their website, I noticed a new plate -- it's so cool, I think I may order it -- never bought one of those kind of plates before.

It supports the Oregon Cultural Trust, and the art is kinda psychedelic, a step up from the classic "Oregon kind bud" plate, as I call it.

The Further Bus is on it, too!

Pretty cool.

I imagine Kesey would have a hearty chuckle about the irony of an image of the Bus on an official Oregon license plate...

It's lovely, even without any cultural references. I can't remember seeing any of them driving around but now that I'm aware of it I'm sure I'll see them.

Nice plate...

I believe if you have a passport there is no need to apply for Real ID

Kewl.  Might have to get one.

Voodoo, you are correct... and I do have a passport... but I must get an Oregon license again anyways and it seems like a good idea to have a backup ID that I can use for domestic travel.

Voodoo, guess what happened?

In true public agency style, the DMV's passport verification machine was not functioning while I was there, (and I didn't have my birth certificate w/ me) so I just went for the plain old license -- and was able to pick up my new plates there, too! I'll continue to always take my passport for all flights... don't need the Real ID, like you said.,, just a "nice to have" item.

Unfortunately the Furthur bus icon is mostly covered by one of the numbers, but I know it's there.

Wait where's the bus? I can't find it...

Cool concept, but kind of a goofy execution. It seems really hard to make out the icons.

^^^ agree, Mike.
