8 "iconic" artists over 3 hours.  Being produced by the 89 year old Clive Davis.

Who's on the Bill any ideas?

Kid rock Ted nugent vanilla ice van Morrison

i am just here for the lineup rabble

From Dave's link:

Mr. Davis — whose five-decade career highlights have included working with Janis Joplin, Bruce Springsteen, Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys and Whitney Houston — said he is aiming for eight “iconic” stars to perform a three-hour show for 60,000 attendees and a worldwide television audience.

No mention of the Grateful Dead? I thought Davis considered signing the GD as one of the landmarks of his long career. Makes me wonder if D&C will make the "iconic" list.

Eight acts in three hours?  That is like 22 minutes per act.

That's like 10-15 minute sets plus super jam.

Two or three anthemic sing-alongs each.

Brian Mays Queen with Adam Lambert will be there.

Looking like a fun day in the park.

Bruce, Paul Simon and Patti Smith together. Probably only a few songs. I'll watch it on TV. Too much hasstle and walking to get to the Great Lawn. Saw Neil Young, Foo Fighters, Black Keys, and some other people including John Legend who sang "Imagine in 2012 there:. Was a great show but my feet hurt for days after walking around NYC and getting to the show and then back to Penn Station. I'm too old for this shit now.

Based on what was said/shown in "Anthem to Beauty", I would not exactly say that Clive Davis was a Grateful Dead fan or very much enamored with them and/or their style either but maybe with lots of water under the bridge (or some potentially on-setting dimentia) he could be a little nastalgic about the whole affair.

I saw Simon and Garfunkel in the park, no need to go to this although I will be in New York for Deadco....

smooth, Rob Thomas and Carlos Santana, exodus.... movement of Jah people

Jimmy Fallon ?

Strawbud, you're thinking of Joe Smith and/or Dave Hassinger from Warner Brothers. The GD didn't sign with Arista Records (Clive Davis' label) until 1976.

Weird they went with The Killers instead of The Strokes for the indie-rock band.

Very cool that Patti Smith is appearing.

Personally, this feels a little all over the map to me.   Something for everyone or too little of anything?

Wait, are you saying that too much of everything isn't just enough?

That's exactly what I'm saying!!! lol

Journey and Barry Manilow are enough to scare me away.  Other than that,  I'm afraid of the people who(m) are multi-vaxxed and spreading the Replicant Delta, Theta and future Virii.

No way you'd get me in Central Park with this Poo lineup.

Elvis Costello-Santana-Paul Simon-Patti Smith-Bruce Springsteen-Earth, Wind & Fire

All worth seeing.

Journey!?

If  with Steve Perry cool!

Steve Perry is no longer singing for Journey.

I know Steve Perry doesn't sing with Journey but thought maybe for Central Park a reunion would be cool.

You're not wrong about that. No better one and done for that scenario.

Saw Journey open for the Stones at Soldier Field in 78. They rocked. Everybody dug them Got a great response.  Saw them open for the Stones in 81 in Philly amd they sucked.

Seeing the same old band over and over is lame IMHO and stupid! So much more to experience in life!!

Mikey your one dumb Motherfucker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! etc!

get off my back trans~

derplittle, I've told you before, "you are" contracted is "you're," not "your". Also, "motherfucker" doesn't need to be capitalized in this usage, and are all those exclamation points really necessary?

Cool fontwork though.

I hope John Batiste doesn't get hosed by the sound crew again.  We went to the last big Central Park to-do (Global Citizen?) and the early acts got F'd hard.

These old brothers were selling $5/$7 cups of something on the blocks-long line along Central Park West.  It was funny seeing customers go bow-legged/get loud before they even reached Security Check.

H.E.R. was pretty good.  Carol King was in great form.  We split when the bugs came out.  I saw Queen on da yootoobses.
