New Jerry Garcia Interview September 7, 1981 – Concord Ca

Forums:

I unearthed/mined/re-edited and liberated this new (to me) 1981 interview with Jerry Garcia & posted it on YouTube just now

Jerry Garcia Interview, September 7, 1981 – Concord Pavilion, Concord Calf

It was in 9 separate videos, that I edited it together (8 out of 9) of them completely seamlessly, with no gaps using WinxHD video editor.  One video sequence had a little sttuer.

This is a wonderful interview with Jerry Garcia from 1981 over a half hour long. Done by a novice, yet polite network interviewer. Jerry discusses the artistic and creative approach of the Grateful Dead and its technical complexities. Both live and in the studio. This video is dedicated to the fan of the man, Jerry Garcia. Where we still search, for every breath and whisper of this National Treasure. As well as to the new fans of Jerry Garcia’s music, art and being.

{I own no copyright to this video, and you can reference Jerry Garcia’s comment at the 29:26 mark of this video, where Jerry had a real problem with re-profiteering}

Enjoy it while you can. You never know who has copyright bug up their ass.

The few minutes I watched are great! I'm looking forward to watching it all. Thank you!

Here is a link that opens it in a different tab/window - I inadvertently close Viva when I'm done with things that are embedded here - just copied and pasted it to here.

You are so come.

The irony at the 33 minute mark Jerry talks about the making of Bertha, and when thinking of any possible legalities, the line "Throw me in Jail House! Until the break of day" came to mind.

lol screw it.

It's Papa Jerry!

Great show out in Concord that afternoon.

Here's a link to a blogpost about the show with background on The Concord Pavilon etc. I seem to recall too that that tickets were $1.06 grand total, though the stub shows $1.00.

{I'm happy with the WinxHD software I used.  It was freeware I am going to buy, I have uses for its applications}

This interview with Jerry Garcia has over 1000 views in only 2 days at YouTube.

Jerry being very articulate about what he loves!   Great interview!

I agree Stelflip. It's such great interview. Good to see your post.

It will have 8000 views by this weekend. The vault archived it. My friend Dennis McNally likes it. Folks at Grateful Dead properties are aware of it now.

Even my Ex wife even chimmed in with some heartfelt gratitude after watching it. I'm speechless on this one....

Someone just wrote "Jerry did you see that- you're considered a "National Treasure". What a beautiful way to describe your soul's human experience as Jerry Garcia.
