New BLM plan for Grand Staircase- Escalante Nat'l Monument

Some folks on the Zone have shown interest in their public lands and the national monument reductions that were done in Utah in 2017. The 1.9 million acre Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument which was designated 23 years ago by President Clinton, and the 1.35 million acre Bears Ears National Monument which was designated by President Obama in December of 2016.

I know Alias and Redneck and I discussed Utah wilderness a little at Targhee a few weeks ago, and when the reductions were done, others on here showed interest.

Despite the fact the reductions are still being litigated and may be reversed, yesterday the BLM announced its plans for the reduced Grand Staircase-Escalante that include mining and increased grazing and other assorted changes.
