Never Forget - Tiananmen Square 1989

Forums:

31 years ago today, thousands of students were massacred or arrested while fighting for the right to simply vote in a democratic election.

Looks like folks in Hong Kong defied the government today. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-52920083

Trump Projection Coming  in 3,2,1...

Chinese government has worked hard to make sure its people have forgotten about it.   Can't even mention it over there.

The very idea of democracy squashed like a bug.

Makes it especially tragic watching ours wither and die before our very eyes

Thanks for the thread, Slick.

Ras, our democracy isn't going anywhere. In fact, it's just getting stronger. Sometimes it's messy. But the people are rising up. The jerk won't be around much longer.

You're welcome, Judit. Sent a "Never Forget" e-mail to some folks at work. Turned a 20 year-old flower child at work on to this. She didn't know much about it and will be watching "Tank Man" from PBS's Frontline on You Tube this weekend.
