Neil Young Announces Live Album and Movie With Promise of the Real

Forums:

Neil Young’s 2019 European summer tour with Promise of the Real will be chronicled with a double album and concert film titled Noise and Flowers, which is slated for an early 2021 release.

The nine-date tour kicked off June 29th in Odense, Denmark, just eight days after the death of Elliot Roberts, Young’s manager of over 50 years. “[Daryl Hannah] and I were on the bus, on our way to New York to catch a plane to Europe, when we got the call,” Young wrote on the Neil Young Archives. “After returning to the funeral for our beloved Elliot, we got on the plane and left for the tour.”

I thought the 2015/16 tour with POTR was better, but 2019 didn't exactly suck, either.

I'm sure nearly all of you have seen this, but in the unlikely event someone hasn't...the quintessential Neil

i saw berlin, antwerp and amsterdam and they were so fucking good.  can't wait for this.

i agree 2016 was really special but i'm glad they picked this.

^Damn!

Rene Fontaine, I am most envious.

and two bob dylan shows on the neil off days.(mainz and braunschweig) it was a glorious week in europe.

amsterdam was the weakest (though still great) neil show. it seemed like a rehearsal for london. but the mushrooms sure were fantastic.

antwerp was the best neil show even without the bust out but then on the beach made it legendary.

berlin was outside in an a cool amphitheater that is next to the olympic stadium hitler had built.

outside the venue was statue of jesse owens. it was a mind fuck to see and hear neil get those young(ish) germans singing rockin in the free world in unison when their grandparents were quite likely chanting something very different in that very spot.

...brought to you by great moments in concert going

I saw the Hyde Park show but I thought it paled in comparison to the Ziggo Dome show from 16.  That one needs to be released on it's own.
