This little lighthouse is at the Brough of Birsay in the Orkney Islands. Its right next to the ruins of on a old Viking settlement on a little tidal island that can only be reached at low tide. The name comes from the Old Norse ‘Byrgisey’ – the fort island:
Here's the Cape Arago Lighthouse (formerly known as Cape Gregory) in Charleston, Oregon. Had a buddy visiting from NY a week or so ago, so I took him to Cape Arago / Shore Acres state park. Not my best Lighthouse pics, but recent, so there ya go. Spectacular area for sure!
