My incredible wife

Forums:

works over 70 + hours a week. cooks, feeds does laundry and generally cares for a set of 14, 17, & 46-yearold wild children, not to mention the half a dozen or so well-behaved children that always seem to be hanging around for one reason or another. My Mother (using the nice term here), bless her crazy little heart, is here less than a week and declares our house "filthy" actually texted me that "any authorities" would take our kids away...Then my wonderful wife spends her only free time of the evening calming me down and preaching about forgiveness and tolerance for the obviously not well women that happens to be my Mother.... sorry for the vent. Fuck my life...Happy moon shadow day y'all....

Damn, sorry. Sending lots of love and appreciation to Lisa for who she is and what she does, and to you, for listening to her.

You are dear people.

Way to go Lisa, keeping Canyon cool! Not that I think either of you really need help in that dept., but like great couples it sounds like you both are definitely "there for each other"...and everyone else who is there also.

Also - thank you for the killer Besy of 2016 compilation Canyon. I gave a copy of it to Billy Strings a couple months back & he loves it! If there are links to previous years that are still available for download could you please post or email them? Thanks again!

Fine lady that Mrs. Canyon!

Hmmm Got Motel 6?

been ages, hope to see ya out and about...

You, my friend, have a purdy wife.

Ah those pesky parents. They can push the buttons.

Sure sounds like you have a good life to me though.

Your entire post is about how freaking lucky you are.

And so what if the place is a little messy. A little dust never hurt anyone, and people who are overly neat make me wonder what they're trying to hide.

Carry on Canyon, you're doing fine.

Well sure you could consider me lucky, i only do every breathing second but whaaa parents just dont understand....

It has been much too long, walstib. We made it down to the new Crossroads backyard a few weeks (err months)  back but only saw a couple familar faces. Including the kind Mr.Crab up there.Hey now buddy...sure do miss the glory DNB /PNF days. Makes me think of some lyrics. Wanna read them? Here the go...think of a big green modulus dropping bombs as you read:)

People say don't rock the boat, let things go their own way
Ideas that once seem so right, now have gotten hard to say
I wish I could talk to you, you could talk to me
'Cause there very few of us left my friend
From the days that used to be.
Seem like such a simple thing to follow one's own dream
But possessions and concession are not often what they seem
They drag you down and load you down in disguise of security.
But we never had to make those deals
In the days that used to be.
Talk to me, my long lost friend, tell me how you are
Are you happy with your circumstance, are you driving a new car
Does it get you where you wanna go, with a seven year warranty
Or just another hundred thousand miles away
From days that used to be.

LISA.  !!

da bomb

hang in there buddy

blessings abound

u r both missed dearly

Canyon, those lyrics above really took me back, and are certainly poignant and oh-so-appropriate to this day. Reading them over, I could almost hear Billy Laymon belting out the lyrics for a way-too-small assemblage of freaks groovin' in an uncrowded venue off the beaten path. Sure makes me long for those freewheelin' days of DNB yore.

Sending big love and positive vibes to you and Lisa and the whole fam. Miss you lots, and hope our paths will cross again in the not-too-distant future.

^^^ haha... yes indeedy!!

I was at that show... the venue is only 7 miles from where I (still) live!

re-listening to the show now... thanks for the link!

As are we Mr.Fish but we hung out at the car to long and started at track 4:)...now its sounding like we all won big at the lottery...ohh the old lyrics and everything. Classic...

Missing them DNB boys! Here's to the good ole' days indeed! https://archive.org/details/dnb2002-04-24.flac16

{{{{ DAVID NELSON }}}}

The sound louder than an oceans roar indeed. As a gaze back to that wonderful zoner filled ride. I fondly remember the way out of the way venues, miles and miles from each other (Arcata to Santa Cruz anyone?).

In every way it was the exact opposite of the huge dead tours of the stadium years. The fewer than 40 always there, always ready with good cheer and whatever fun you were seeking that evening. No hassles, no,well minimal security. Which some times turned out to to be us! (whose idea was that?! ). Small bars where the locals were.

If you got there early enough you could watch the entire process from Timmy in to Timmy out I truly loved every second of it...I think if i had to boil it down to one memory, it will be that time at Six Rivers in Arcata (?)  when less then 20 of us forced a 3rd encore which they played with rubber chickens. As I drove off into the heavy humboldt fog and rain I thought it just doest get better than that...

I dont know if its possible to be better or worse, these things depend so much on time and circumstance. I am glad I got to experience these things with the people that were there. And grateful for days like today when the memories really help...I spent 7 years with Garcia then 7 years with Nelson, I couldnt choose one over the other if you threatened to dip me in a vat of mayo....ewww...g'nite. I gota new cell # hit me up if you want it (old one is still good but not for long)...peace...

Mothers are professional button pushers, best you can do is try not to take the criticism to heart and not take the bait.

Hang in there.

( Mrs Canyon )

It always makes me happy to see you guys & yes I enjoyed seeing you both in TXR's yard.

So Mom is staying with you and complaining that the house isn't clean enough? Have you tried handing her a bucket, rags and a mop?

Love to you and the family, Canyon. Lisa is GOLD. I'm sure your crazy Mom means well.

Happy Anniversary !!

To Mr. & Mrs. Canyon.

The Rare times I've been blessed to meet one or both of Youse,  I always thought;  "What a Cute Couple"  and "those California people sure are Beautiful".

Hope that you (Mr. Canyon)  continue with your gorgeous poster Art and beyond.

The sun just took a little rest with a little help from the passing moon. Shadows come and go and so do parental units.
Here's to brighter days, Canyon, which will always come with Lisa by your side. A true pair of aces, back to back!
14 & 17? Where DOES the time go?
Looking forward to seeing you both sooner than later, because you both always make me smiley.

an amazing woman... you a lucky man!

hope things start moving in a more positive direction soon.

Let me guess....there was dried pee and pubes at the base of your toilet that she saw?

love and miss ya kids, tons.

Most Awesome People C&L and Fam ! ! A Lived In Home Is a Good Thing

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY & MANY MORE!

{{{The Canyons}}}

hope today is better.

Love you guys.

You're an incredible family, like set the bar incredible.

Oh, Canyon, I miss you guys and the days that used to be. I've been getting nostalgic and a little sad about it all lately... But anyway, you and the Mrs. are wonderful folks, and I hope you can let the crazy family stuff go - water off a duck's back and all of that.  Because you know what it's all about. (Easier said, I know.)  Love to you and L.

Women of your moms generation (1950's, 1960's & 1970's) where told if they stayed at home with kids & didn't have a clean home and kitchen floor they weren't good housewives. Good riddance sexists views of the past. Two income world now a days for most parents.

Sound like you got a good wife and family and mother that means well. Kudos!!

Canyons Mom raised him on dead tour.  She's probably lucky CPS didn't take him.

yup, I was "taken"  I more than once...my grandparents had to "kidnap" me in 1980 due to the conditions we were living in. Really wasn't Dead tour tho, more of a hippy druggy commune all over Marin County kind of scene. we only did West Coast shows on the bus...

It takes a village to raise a child.
