I've noticed a lot of posts here lately about The Sopranos which is cool because we all know it's the greatest TV show of all time. They also happened to have a lot of good music on the show, which is what will be featured in this thread.
Feel free to post your own links to songs that were played on The Sopranos, as long as they are YouTube links that also site the episode of the Sopranos that the song was featured on. You are allowed to and may I state that you are actually ENCOURAGED to give a synopsis of the episode as well but it is not mandatory.
I'll start the ball rolling and give you all an example of how to properly post a song from The Sopranos in this thread:
Heaven Only Knows - Emmylou Harris https://youtu.be/3mbDBxALtm0
Season 5, Episode 1: Two Tony's (synopsis here. I'd give you mine, but I recently covered this episode in another thread and I don't want to detract from it).
It's a great song you should listen to it if you know what's good for you.

Time Zone - World Destruction
Time Zone - World Destruction https://youtu.be/u1T6l70XlqU
Season 4, Episode 1: For All Debts Public and Private: This episode marks the first appearance of that stinking rat Adrianna's dog Cozette. Cozette in a later episode is senselessly killed after Christopher injects heroin directly into his veins and then nods off on top of Cozette, smothering the dog to death.
Needless to say Tony gets EXTREMELY agitated when he finds out about Cozette's untimely death during a subsequent intervention for Christopher although none of that takes place in this episode.
The song "World Destruction" was released in 1984 and feels very dated as the lyrics deal with such subjects like "the rich get richer and the poor are getting poorer" as well as "the human race is becoming a disgrace". Fortunately we don't have to deal with such trivialities any more. One of the singers of this song used to be in the Sex Pistols.

Van Morrison, Glad Tidings.
Van Morrison, Glad Tidings.
Wow. One of several EPIC examples of great music and The Sopranos already mentioned by people other than me in this thread. Before I pay tribute to the other examples, allow me to address the Van Morrison song referred to previously and accessible here: https://youtu.be/tPdShWevWoU
Let's not just gloss over the significance of this Van Morrison song and in particular the lyrical content in so much as Van sings "and we'll send you glad tidings from New York" - now listen - I know you people aren't dumb, but let's take a look at just what Van is getting at. Tony Sopranos's cousin Tony Blundetto just tried to knock off Phl Leotardo but missed Phil and unfortunately managed to kill Phil's brother Billy in the process. Tony B. of course was hired by Frankie Valli to knock off Phl because of the power struggle between that idiot Carmine Jr and Johnny Sack.
So when Van sings glad tidings from NY, he means that Phil Leotardo and his NY crew are now coming to NJ to hunt down Tony B. Tony B, of course, goes into hiding in Kinderhook, NY. Yet ANOTHER NY REFERENCE.
Enough said.
Tribute also need to be paid to Greasyheart for the Faces "Bad N Ruin" mention. This is another EPIC example of great music and The Sopranos intersecting in a very beneficial way. This song will get a much longer tribute in a post that will take place in the future.
Also, Rick Numbers must be given some respect for mentioning "Living On A Thin Line" by The Kinks which was a pretty epic example of great music and The Sopranos using each other in a positive fashion. The fact that Ralph disrespected The Bing was pretty outrageous. This will also be addressed in greater detail later than now.
Lastly, jelly roll mentioned los Lobos, which always gets a nod.

What a great scene Ateix, I love that show so much and I'm filled with such emotion after viewing that, like the first notes to a Stella Blue after a long drums and space, anyway an important scene for AJ, as his older sister Meadow, has told him that their Father and Uncle are leaders of a Mafia family and he watches to see if this could be true.
