Most smokin Franklins Ever

Forums:

Let's have it.   What say you?

There's a newb in the office who is interested in some good shoes.   His first band was a dead cover band he had no business playing in but he's particulrly fond of this song.    What's the one version that will knock his socks off?

I did see that Gainesville one mentioned in another place.     Will have to check it out.   Thanks,

This show was on fire, can't say it's the tightest version, but it still shreds in it's own 14 minute unique way!

Noodler i listened to that show after you recommended it in another thread. It truly smokes

I like Q Franks

This one will always be the best for me, but only because it was my first show and that was the song that made me start thinking what the fuck is all this about.

The best "Franklin's Tower" I have come across is Seattle 9/29/77.   It's a first set closer, following a stellar "Let It Grow."   This Franklin's is almost 17 minutes long and features some inspired jamming, as well as some gorgeous vocal interplay between Jerry and Donna.    I used to use this as filler in the old analog tape days, and it always inspired comments from people who heard it.   Seriously, this is one of the all time greatest versions of Franklin's you will ever hear.   Run, don't walk, to the Archive and listen to this amazing performance.   You will be glad you did.   Hear this now and thank me later!!

Nice.   Thanks for the heads up.

I don't know if it qualities as "most smokin" but I have always been partial to the very first one. It's so gentle & articulate, as that entire brilliant show is, and Jerry's voice is so clean.
