Heading down in a few hours. Not sure what to expect. Some kind of meet n' greet, a performance, silent auction (Jake Peavey has a studio here and if some studio time is offered I will make a modest bid), open bar.
Will attend with the missus and another rarely posting Zoner.

The event was to benefit the Jake Peavey foundation. Funds go to hurricane and fire relief.
The venue, Cedar street Social Club, a very nice private saloon. Peavey promotes cultural and charitable events and has produced a local music festival two years running after the city pulled the plug on it. Had a conversation with Jake, nice cat with good intentions.
Little TXR type "interview" of Phil by Krasno. Covered going down to see GD and getting handed the bass gig. Then told the playing in Egypt story. A few audience questions. The usual "what influences you", etc.
Then the set. I liked it, lots of energy. Krasno played an SG and was a powerhouse. Drums could have been higher in the mix. Can't remember the last time I saw three ES 335's on stage together Still, can't complain about sitting thirty feet in front of PL with cold Laganitas and choco edible.
Then we lucky few got a picture and some words with Phil. He was friendly and jokey I suggested he put out a nice release of Planet Jams with pro mastering and editing, some nice art, and the alchemy backstory He looked at me surprised and I said, "You know what I mean". He smiled and said, "Oh Yeah" Nice fantasy anyway.
Unusual but damn fun night.
Round two tonight at the "real" show.
