Mayor Ed Lee

Forums:

This sums up how I feel about his passing. On the other hand I'm happy I got pushed out. Still fun to visit, but can't see ever living there again.

I work for the City of SF in the Dept of Tech at Market and Van Ness.

I am also a working musician.

I met Ed several times at La Corneta Taqueria in Glen Park.  He was a very every day guy - easy to chat with, friendly without an ounce of pretension and for that I was grateful.

He made Gavin Newsome seem like the oily used car salesman he truly is.

But I concur with BrokeAssStuart's disliking for Ed Lee for creating the conditions that make SF unaffordable.

The personal problem I have with it is, as time goes by, less and less of my pals who are artists, musicians, creators and characters - the people who provide the culture of this once great city, have fled because they can no longer afford life here.

The character of this place has become generic, bland and lifeless with smaller and smaller pockets of cultural drying up like stray and dying pools of water in an ongoing drought.

That's a good article and I agree, BrokeAssStuart hits the nail on the head!
