Goin to Hartford Friday and I got shut out Sat at Levons

I’m excited for this!! My buddy loves these guys and got us tickets for Friday.

Isn’t that the guitarist who plays with Mike? Didn’t realize he was almost 70 wow

I've posted about this B4 on the Zone - but back in 1982 (or 3?) me and my homies from Northern NJ went camping in Kent CT and on our first night there we stumbled upon a flyer announcing "Camp Creek," in Granby.  We were in pursuit of psychedelics and psychedelic experiences and in the AM we broke camp and drove 60 miles to what turned out to be the very first Camp Creek!

When we entered the festival site the only folks present were the sound and light crew and the band!  Surprisingly, but also within our expectations, one of the crew offered all of us some "blue dolphins!"

We wound up helping to complete construction of the stage, climbling ladders to set lighting gels and basically helped the crew prepare for the fest!  Due to our help we were privileged to be able to imbibe from the back stage kegs too!

This was basically a festival in a sheep pasture but it melted our minds!

My direct memories of the dozen or so times I saw the Creek are very vivid and trippy.  What an awesome band!

Kent Falls?

Creek has been a mainstay in the NE.  Many great days back in the late 80's at Woodbury Ski & Raquet, inside and out.

Macedonia Brook State Park.

TIL Scott Murkowski is 61 which made him pretty young when the band formed

rock on

And the story I dropped was about the very 1st Camp Creek....

Scotty fuckin Rawks!

Happy 47th to the mighty Max Creek and all the wonderful freeks that love them...my life is much better for stumbling into the Agora Ballroom all tbose many years ago...

Such a cool band.  Would head down to Lupo's in Providence from Bryant College on Wednesday(?) nights to see them.  Great escape from the dorm to hear great music  First song I heard was Big River!
