anyone stopping by to the event on Saturday?  one must make an appointment for a private viewing... ‘Marin’s Rock Art Scene’ runs Saturday, Sept. 12, to Sunday, Nov. 8. MarinMOCA is located at 500 Palm Dr., Novato. Open by appointment only. 415.506.0137; marinmoca.org.

all are welcome to swing by my place for a refreshment or something like that, either before or after.  I am looking forward to seeing the photos myself!

If I were there I'd go. Strangely, the thing I most want to see is Joan Baez's painting. I hope you go and let us know about the show.

Thanks for posting.

I have a 130p viewing on Sat.  I will def report back.  still blows my mind this stuff is local to me now.  its hard to believe anyone could take living out here for granted.

very grateful indeed

so that was very cool.... a well done exhibit of handbills, concert posters and photos of shit thats right up my alley and a venue that was 3 miles from home.

10 bucks well spent for those considering attendance

That's not rock art :-)

Big hearts to our art friends out that way during these crazy times when the noon sky is the color of this rock.

^ Slick - how many of those figures depict aliens? (maybe more than we think)

Looks like a rainbow in the middle

Don't I see a "Kilroy was here" in that Utah rock art.:)

Good question, Alan. When we see this artwork, it makes folks wonder if they had "visitors"?  Or was it just really good peyote?

That panel is from the Fremont Culture, about 1,000 A.D.

Here's a closer look. Not sure about the Kilroy, doctor.

There's amazing spacey figures in so many places.  https://suwa.org/great-gallery-horseshoe-canyon-canyonlands-national-par...

This Sego Canyon site is cool and way accessible. 5 minutes north of I-70 at the Thompson Springs exit, 5 minutes west of the Moab turnoff at Crescent Jct.

I'm not telling secrets. They actually have a bathroom there now.

Bordering the Ute Reservation, it used to be a thoroughfare for the Native Americans (to Mesa Verde area?) so there's three different cultures represented. They estimate some of the art at 7,000 years old.

Speaking of "rock art", anyone still remember Tape Cat's Philzone posters? I have one or two.
