I see what you did there doolittle. That's a good one.

(That shot is also timely, as it's Putin & Trump's wetdream photo)

I have nothing artistic to add, but since I'm here I'll put up a little shot I took the other day, right outside one of my favorite venues of all time...

That's Mrs. Ludwig on the right, my first grade teacher!

I had to stay in for a LOT of recess and always had to stay after school.

She looked more like the picture on the left when I started!

Taken at a news conference in Freehold, NJ announcing The My Hometown Project, which will be a museum that tells the story of Freehold's most well known son. It seems that Bruce fell back into his school day routine when they did roll call and acknowledged that he was present.

"Declining Lake Powell water levels have isolated Rainbow Bridge & cut visitation to 3,290 in 2021, down from 115,108 in 2019 before COVID crippled tourism.

Tours to the 290-foot natural bridge in southern Utah have been suspended and there are no usable docks for smaller boats."

Rainbow Bridge.jpg

Earth providing rest to this sacred Native site?

Just another reminder of the crime that is/was Lake Foul. "Just one precision earthquake."

Gregory Arch, under water since the 60's, has been exposed recently due to low water.rainbow bridgez.jpg

Not many tourists notice the dinosaur track under Rainbow Bridge.

From Utah.com

Access to the bridge was very difficult through most of its history, requiring long backpacks through rugged canyons. But now Lake Powell’s waters extend up close to the bridge, making it relative easy to hike up to the impressive rock span. (I guess a shrinking lake will change that.)

You can still hike overland to the bridge, if you don’t mind spending 3-4 days on the trail. The trail is on Navajo Nation land and so you need a permit from the tribe. It’s a great hike.

(It says one trail is 13 miles and another 14. Why that is 3-4 days on the trial is puzzling. Although 3-4 days on the trail could be a wonderful experience.)

Rainbow Bridge, on the edge of Lake Powell, is the largest natural bridge in the world at 290 feet/88 meters tall and 270 feet/83 meters across. Rainbow Bridge is considered sacred by the Navajo culture as a symbol of deities responsible for creating clouds, rainbows and rain - the essence of life in the desert.

>>>>Not many tourists notice the dinosaur track under Rainbow Bridge.

I didn't know about that, Joy.

Gregory Arch was one Ken Sleight lamented quite often.

As an aside: Lake Mead has dropped 44 feet over the last calendar year. If it drops another 35 the turbines that move water (and produce electricity) will no longer be functional.
