ceramic dog is serious business. seen them live twice, they have delivered the goods both times. ribot's playing is the perfect combo of noise guitar, free jazz, and rock/punk...noise arranged into rock/punk songs with free jazz improv. very inventive, always energetic and authentic. party music for the sake of art and not the party. i've posted that KEXP show in the what are you listening to threads probably a million times, and listened to it even more than that. everything ribot touches is gold. young philadelphians is one of the best along with ceramic dog. ches smith and shazad ismailly have lots of great stuff in other groups as well...i had heard their stuff before i got into ribot in secret cheifs 3 with trey spruance
