This dude I used to hang out with would bring in 300g's of charas about twice a year from India. That shit was really nice smoke. I know technically it's not like the modern day western world quality and people will argue to the death about how they crush the trichromes and so on so forth, but there's something special about the flavor and high of charas. I've never smoked anything like it before or since and for about 3 or 4 years it was my daily smoke. Good times! :)
Here are some pics my brother took on his recent trek in Nepal. Apparently, the ganja is growing on the side of the road but was not that good by modern West Coast standards:
