Had some big fun at a criminally under-attended show this past Thanksgiving Saturday Night at GAMH.
The opener was Larkin-Poe - two ragingly talented sisters laying down hot electric blues on strat and steel guitar...
The headliner was Louisiana Love Act w the Blazin' Hot Horns.
With Steve Kimock, Melvin Seals, John Molo, Pete Sears, Wally Ingram backing up Jimmy Vivino and Phil Colombatto!
Fun show with some solid funky blues and jazz!
I'd have to say though that the front guy didn't do a great job connecting with the crowd.
He never looked at anyone - seemed to sing with his eyes closed and it was hard to understand his lyrics.
Also - it seems he must have either worked too hard or gotten sick 'cause he didn't surface from the ground floor for the encore which was led and sung by Jimmy Vivino.
Jimmy was great and played a ton of leads with stinging tone and cool prhasing.
The Horn Section killed.
Melvin and Steve were rather sedate but stepped up for some good breaks.
Molo and Sears w Wally were all tight and right.
