Los Straitjackets

Forums:

I think I am going to pass on Dead & Co. at Citi Field this Saturday to check out the instrumental surf music of:

Los Straitjackets at the Boulton Center in Bayshore, NY - 6/24

They have a new CD of Nick Lowe songs, that looks neat.

Nick Lowe is in town, and Marshall Crenshaw who is playing with Los Straightjackets  most of the shows, is confirmed to not be at this one.

I need some vocals, no?

Anyone here ever see Los Straitjackets before? What's with the Mexican wrestling masks?

They bring out a stripper/dancer (Ms. Potani) out, for real?

I may sleep on it.

I've got one of their CD's, love it.   We go to the Oregon coast a few times a year (mostly musician types), we take turns playing CD's when we're indoors, and Los Straitjackets is always a fave...   (props to Don Tiki too)

Thanks Noodler, I appreciate it.

Saw them with Eilen Jewell a few years ago.  They were really good but the masks get old fast.

the masks get old fast.>>>>>>>
That's why they have a stripper.

Hahaha.

I think I'm in. Thanks!

Los Straitjackets at the Boulton center in Bayshore was fun tonight.

A refreshing barrage instrumental surf wave music with killer drum breaks.

A fantastic version of the Beatles "I Fell Fine" and the Rolling Stones "Time is on my Side"

The theme from Batman rocked.

A  couple of Nick Lowe songs, Cruel to be Kind, What' so funny about Peace, Love & Understanding to promote their new release of Nick Lowe songs.

The show ended kind of early, as there was no stripper, Nick Lowe, Marshall Crenshaw, or visit from Mickey Hart with the beam from Citi Field.

I would see these guys again, for sure. Fun stuff.

I've heard good things about this, will put it on my "need to check out someday" list, thanx

The masks remind me of Kenny as Mysterio on South Park

I didn't know they had masks on until now.

I'm playing their new CD "What's So Funny About Peace, Love and" (2017) and it's groovy.

Nick Lowe's Quality Rock 'n' Roll Revue - starring Los Straitjackets will be putting on Free concert Saturday, August 5th at 7:30 pm at the very pretty Damrosch Park, next to Linclon Center, NYC.

Should be a great show!

The bass player and recording engineer Peter Curry is a very cool dude. He mailed me an autographed promo photo of the new CD and a CD of his solo work with LJ leader Eddie Angel called "Panamericanas!" Going pop it an after "What's So Funny About Peace, Love &..." CD

Viva Los Straitjackets!
