DOJ let Russian lawyer into US before she met with Trump team
The Russian lawyer who penetrated Donald Trump’s inner circle was initially cleared into the United States by the Justice Department under “extraordinary circumstances” before she embarked on a lobbying campaign last year that ensnared the president’s eldest son, members of Congress, journalists and State Department officials, according to court and Justice Department documents and interviews.
This revelation means it was the Obama Justice Department that enabled the newest and most intriguing figure in the Russia-Trump investigation to enter the country without a visa.
Just five days after meeting in June 2016 at Trump Tower with Trump Jr., Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and then-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, Moscow attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya showed up in Washington in the front row of a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on Russia policy, video footage of the hearing shows.
She also engaged in a pro-Russia lobbying campaign and attended an event at the Newseum in Washington, D.C., where Russian supporters showed a movie that challenged the underpinnings of the U.S. human rights law known as the Magnitsky Act, which Russian President Vladimir Putin has reviled and tried to reverse.
The Magnitsky Act imposed financial and other sanctions on Russia for alleged human rights violations connected to the death of a Russian lawyer who claimed to uncover fraud during Putin's reign. Russia retaliated after the law was passed in 2012 by suspending Americans' ability to adopt Russian children.
At least five congressional staffers and State Department officials attended that movie showing, according to a Foreign Agent Registration Act complaint filed with the Justice Department about Veselnitskaya’s efforts.
And Veselnitskaya also attended a dinner with the chairman of the House subcommittee overseeing Russia policy, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) and roughly 20 other guests at a dinner club frequented by Republicans.

With all due respect Nancy, one woman's delusional is another man's views. I agree with most, if not all, of your views on "how things should be" for lack of a better term, I just think the means to get there with these two parties is not working well. I don't profess to have all, or probably any, of the answers. I also don't think calling someone else's opinion/statement delusional is purposeful. It seems to me the U.S govt system is more of an oligarchy than a democracy and that drives a lot of issues here and abroad. But again, that's just my view, among billions.

The Russian lawyer who met
The Russian lawyer who met Donald Trump Jr and allegedly offered to supply damaging information about Hillary Clinton, is apparently linked to a firm that helped compile the notorious dossier of wild and unproven allegations about the US President.
The company had originally been hired by Republican rivals of Mr Trump during the primary campaign. After he secured the party's nomination, the company was instead paid by Democratic financial supporters of Ms Clinton. In the summer of 2016, GPS hired former British intelligence agent, Christopher Steele, to help their work.

Obama DOJ Allowed Russian
Obama DOJ Allowed Russian Lawyer Into The Country Under ‘Extraordinary Circumstances’
Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya originally entered the country in October 2015 on a grant of immigration parole, a rare exemption which allowed her to enter the country without a visa and remain legally until early January 2016, according to court records obtained by The Hill.
Court records from a hearing that took place during the first week of January show Veselnitskaya was granted a week extension on her stay while her case was deliberated, but there are no further records related to her case. It remains unclear how she was able to remain in the country until June 2016 when she met with Donald Trump Jr.
“In October the government bypassed the normal visa process and gave a type of extraordinary permission to enter the country called immigration parole,” assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Monteleoni explained to the judge during the January 6 hearing.
Veselnitskaya was part of an extensive pro-Moscow legal campaign in Washington that involved Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm that later released the explosive dossier that claimed Donald Trump was being blackmailed by the Kremlin.

Russian Lawyer Tied to Democrats, Lynch, and DNC-Linked Trump Dossier Company
Veselnitskaya herself appears to have been opposed to Donald Trump. She has images of herself on social media attending anti-Trump protests, and just four days before her meeting with Trump Jr. she posted an anti-Trump article on her Facebook page—raising doubts again over whether her intentions were really to provide the Trump team with evidence against Clinton.
Veselnitskaya also has ties to Fusion GPS, the opposition research company hired by the DNC to assemble the heavily-debunked dossier on Trump, which was subsequently spread throughout the media, Washington political circles, and the U.S. intelligence community—and that may have played a key role in giving former President Barack Obama an excuse to launch the investigations into Trump.

Alan Dershowitz: 'I don't see any crime' that Donald Trump Jr. committed
Famed lawyer Alan Dershowitz said Wednesday that he doesn't see how Donald Trump Jr. committed any crime, after revealing he met in 2016 with a Russian lawyer who said she had incriminating information about Hillary Clinton.
"I don't see any crime at this point in time," Dershowitz told Newsmax.
He said the worst case scenario now seems to be that Russians got in touch with Trump Jr. and promised him information that may have been obtained illegally. But he said current law allows people to use illegally obtained information, and compared Trump Jr.'s actions to those of famous U.S. newspapers.
"That's what the New York Times did in the Pentagon Papers," he said. "That's what the Washington Post did and many other newspapers did with information from Snowden and Manning."
"You allowed legally to use material that was obtained illegally as long as you had nothing to do with the illegal nature of obtaining the information," he said.

Here are highlights of what Comey said:
“Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.”
Clinton’s emails included seven message chains with information classified as top secret.
“None of these emails should have been on any kind of unclassified system.”
“The security culture of the State Department …was generally lacking in the kind of care for classified information found elsewhere in the government.”
Comey acknowledged that the FBI did not normally make public its recommendations to prosecutors as to whether to bring criminal charges. He added: “In this case, given the importance of the matter, I think unusual transparency is in order.”
“Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.”
“I know there will be intense public debate in the wake of this recommendation, as there was throughout this investigation.”

Well before Hillary Clinton’s failure in the Democratic primaries in 2008 and her subsequent appointment as secretary of state, the Clintons had found a way to exploit the idea that both of them would return to the White House. That reality gave them access to quid pro quo opportunities, often funneled through a philanthropic foundation, of a sort unknown to any past American president. Most important, the Clintons had long since discovered that public outrage at their impropriety could be dismissed as the empty and vindictive charges of a “vast right-wing conspiracy,” be they allegations of sexual assault or criticisms of Bill’s becoming the highest-paid “chancellor” in the history of higher education, hired by private for-profit Laureate University at some $4 million a year.

Fox's Shepard Smith slams Trump lies over Russia meeting: The deception “is mind boggling”
Fox anchor Chris Wallace: “You know, I don’t know what to say”
SHEPARD SMITH (HOST): Fox News can now confirm new, more -- Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, the lawyer from Russia, the interpreter, this new guy we found out about today, and a mystery person.
John Roberts confirms there was an eighth person in that meeting. We don't know, there may have been more, but there was an eighth. Jared Kushner filled out his form, I think it's an F-86, saying who he'd met with and what he had done.
Very important stuff, you can go to prison for messing it up, you know, intentionally. He went back and added 100 names and places. None of these people made it. It's still not -- we're still not clean on this, Chris.
It's -- if there's nothing there and that's what they tell us, they tell us there's nothing to this and nothing came of it, there's a nothing burger, it wasn't even memorable, didn't write it down, didn't tell you about it, because it wasn't anything so I didn't even remember it, with a Russian interpreter in the room at Trump Tower.
If all of that, why all of these lies? Why is it lie after lie after lie? If you're clean, come out clean. You know, my grandmother used to say "When first we practice to -- oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive."
The deception, Chris, is mind boggling. And there are still people out there who believe we're making it up, and one day they're going to realize we're not, and look around and go, "Where are we? And why are we getting told all these lies?"
CHRIS WALLACE: You know, I don’t know what to say. I think there’s a lot of truth to everything you said.

Krauthammer: 'Bungled collusion is still collusion'
Conservative commentator Charles Krauthammer says recent revelations make it abundantly clear that the Trump campaign sought to collude with Moscow to influence last year's presidential election.
The evidence is now shown," Krauthammer wrote in a Thursday column in The Washington Post.
"This is not hearsay, not fake news, not unsourced leaks. This is an email chain released by Donald Trump Jr. himself. A British go-between writes that there's a Russian government effort to help Trump Sr. win the election, and as part of that effort he proposes a meeting with a 'Russian government attorney' possessing damaging information on Hillary Clinton."
But he said the new emails are more disturbing, and he described the defense of the meeting and emails from Trump Jr. and "Trump apologists" as pathetic.
He also said it didn't matter if valuable information wasn't passed off to Trump Jr. given the intent of the meeting.
"It turned out to be incompetent collusion, amateur collusion, comically failed collusion," Krauthammer wrote. "That does not erase the fact that three top Trump campaign officials were ready to play. It may turn out that they did later collaborate more fruitfully. We don't know. But even if nothing else is found, the evidence is damning
