Lorde continues to impress me with the complexity of her song writing as well as the attitude of I'm going to do and be who I want to be, not what some handler thinks I should. Loving this new single and some real passion when she performed it on SNL.

I know Lorde has been given the label of a pop artist but I feel it was bestowed upon her because of the popularity of Royals and the critics "had to give her some sort of label. Royals isn't the classic pop song either.
