The Long, Strange Trip Is Over: Dead and Company Will Stop Touring After 2022

Cynical me says, "Great for ticket sales for this tour". I know, they don't need the angle, but it just occurred to me.

^^^ exactly... Deadheads know how to market to their audience

Posted this in the Deadco thread a bit ago

Bob Weir _______________ News __ To ___Me

Shame he had to find out this way

WTF is with the Bobby Weir thing.....he's almost 80 years old for christssake; nobody that old calls themselves Bobby.......well. maybe an over the hill child star.......

80 year olds In capris can call themselves Bobby

No denial from Mayer?

Perhaps he's "outgrown the scene", to quote a Zoner Emeritus or two.

It'd be great if this was Ken Babbs' doing.

^ I second that! Again and as ever, Pranksters Rule!

Any time I see septuagenarians being productive in any way I find it very inspirational.  As far as Deadco, not my cup of tea.  Just saw Lettuce.  That's more my musical direction at this time

Long Live The Grateful Dead

"You're on with John."

I really miss Thoughts on the Dead.  RIP.

That Rolling Stone article has been "updated". LOL

Clickbait

"The Long, Strange Trip Is Over: Dead and Company Will Stop Touring After 2022"

What a stupid fucking headline.

Roarshock bringing his new-found eastie attitude.

Riding that bus into the city brings out the worst in everyone.  I should have put him on the ferrywink

I am soaking up the sun in Ventura thinking about the first time 40 years ago.

Headline writers often pen absurdities. After three days watching many accomplished musicians and bands play mostly Grateful Dead music, I can say with confidence that "the long strange trip" will never be over, not even in a hundred years from now when everybody in the band and all of us are most likely long dead. This music and the songbook are built to last. I see teenagers and children at Skull & Roses ready to patch their bones and keep on trucking on and on.

I wonder who would start such a rumor?

Nice Roarshock !

I read the update.  The cynic in me thinks the "discussions" amount to Irv Azoff discussing how to sell out the Citi Field shows.
