Was just listening to Cowboy Movie and the other tracks from that Crosby album the other night. Will they be doing that? PERRO was the real deal and made some of my favorite studio albums.
I have mountaintop land in Virginia not too far from the fest and always wanted to check it out.
Reunion of the Quintet? Just a couple months before the 20 year anniversary of their debut.

My hunch is that we’ll see the Q before Lockn. They all seem to have open dates in mid-March when the birthday Cap run happens, so I’m guessing the Q on Mar 15 and maybe another of the nights too.
There's a poster of amazing bands and act going around on Facebook but I can't get a good copy to post here. If it's true, people who like the Q will be very happy.
Yes, the lineup poster is out online. The Q alone for the first night on 6/19, the Q with DAVID Crosby on 6/20, and Phil with JRAD and John Mayer on 6/21, pretty much exactly like the earlier rumor had said.
There is a new updated poster with some lineup changes. One of them being that Melvin Seals is not there with Oteil. Also, Phil will be in the VIP tent.
With a Quintet reunion, I'd be all about going to Lockn for the first time. But looking at the ticket prices-dude. Not saying the value for all the music isn't there, but those are some Bonnaroo prices. Seriously. Besides the music, what are the perks that line up with the cost for this festival?
We saw that poster last night and I wasn't convinced it was real.... until I saw this on jambands.com a minute ago. After attending one of the early LOCKN's I swore I'd never go again because of the late summer heat / humidity in late summer -- so the early June dates give me hope. It's not as cool as a venue as Suwannee Music Park in Florida, but this lineup is amazing. Don't understand why they had to include Slayer, though.
LOCKN’ 2020: Phil Lesh Quintet (with Jimmy Herring, Warren Haynes, John Molo, David Crosby), Phil Lesh & JRAD feat. John Mayer, Brandi Carlile, Leon Bridges, Mike Gordon and More
The LOCKN’ 2020 lineup is out, and this year the Virginia festival is celebrating Phil Lesh’s 80th birthday with a number of special sets including two Friday performances by the Phil Lesh Quintet – featuring Warren Haynes, Jimmy Herring, Rob Barraco and John Molo – and a Saturday set with a slightly altered lineup, including Haynes, Herring, Molo and rock legend David Crosby.
As originally reported by Billboard, additional performers for the June 19-21 event include jam scene veterans like Gov’t Mule, Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers, Oteil & Friends, Mike Gordon and Electric Hot Tuna as well as newcomers like Goose, Garcia Peoples, Mapache, Kendall Street Company and Grateful Shred.
Grammy-winner Brandi Carlile will also be on hand to add some country flair to the proceedings.
“Obviously celebrating Phil’s 80th is going to be awesome,” festival co-owner Pete Shapiro previously told Relix. “And we are also excited to move the event earlier in the summer to June. The weather is great in the Blue Ridge area that time of year and it will be fun to get to kick off the summer this way.”
And while it is billed as a three-day event, LOCKN’ 2020 will include a special “Steal Your Thursday” pre-party on June 18 with performances by the Marcus King Band, Dark Star Orchestra and Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, as well as a special “Jerry Dance Party” with DJ JerrBrother.
LOCKN’ will also host a number of tributes, from Railroad Earth & Peter Rowan performing Old & In The Way to Samantha Fish, John Ginty and Berry Oakley, Jr. performing Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours.
Lesh’s last appearance at the Arrington, Va. event was in 2017, where he performed Terrapin Station in its entirety alongside Bob Weir, Nicki Bluhm and the entire Terrapin Family Band.
Other historic Lesh/LOCKN’ moments include a Phil & Friends set with Carlos Santana and Warren Haynes in 2015 as well as a pair of back-to-back 2016 Friends sets on Saturday (Jon Fishman, Page McConnell, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Anders Osborne, Joe Russo and the Infamous Stringdusers) and Sunday (Chris Robinson, Gary Clark Jr.)
In the coming weeks, LOCKN’ will also announce an additional headline-level act on Saturday.
Tickets will go on sale Thursday, Jan. 23 at 12 Noon ET.
For tickets and more information visit the official LOCKN’ website.

Those birthday shows at the Cap are going to be good too. Shappy knows how to put on a show.
Lockn looks like a pretty cool Philathon to me, I can't wait to hear what folks will find to complain about.
And I've wanted David Crosby as a Friend since the beginning of the thing in '99. The idea of him singing Stella Blue, Wharf Rat and all the other Jerry ballads has always seemed perfect to me.
And now it's happening, at a damned festival on the other side of the world.
At least he can still sing, and maybe this will generate a few other occasions.

Phil Lesh, David Crosby, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, John Mayer and more are part of the LOCKN’ festival 2020 lineup. The annual event takes place June 19 – 21, 2020 at Oak Ridge & Infinity Downs Farm in Arrington, Virginia.
LOCKN’ 2020 moves to a three-day format following previous four-day installments. This year’s festival will celebrate Phil Lesh’s 80th birthday with headlining sets each night featuring the Grateful Dead bassist. The first night will see Lesh reforming his famed Phil Lesh & Friends Quintet lineup with Warren Haynes, Jimmy Herring, Rob Barraco and John Molo. The Q will also perform the following evening with Crosby joining the group. The final main stage set of LOCKN’ 2020 will be Lesh with JRAD and Mayer.
