If anyone comes up w/ any Mixlr streams,  let me know.  That's about the only thing that functions on my limited bandwidth.

Thanks!  internationalfirewood ((((at)))) geeemail etc.

No Bisco or Umph needed :)  Just the Good Stuff.

Should be a great weekend of buffering and dropouts.

Nevermind

Umphries still suck.

Umphrey's is downright EPIC compared to SCI or Bisco.

Jim James' set made my day!

Everyone has one! We don't have to agree to get down here!

Here In Spirit

Jim James

No compromise
But willing to sacrifice
Believe what you want
Go on and be who you are
Go out and get what you want
Full of life

The stone is thrown, it's coming fast
The next thing you know
It's crashing thru the glass
Now we're down on our knees picking up the scraps
Whatever it takes we're gonna build it back

If you don't speak out
We can't hear it
Our love is always here
Here in spirit
And all those who came before
Here in spirit
And all those who came before
Here in spirit

No compromise
But willing to sacrifice
If the means to an end's in sight
And once the work is done
Go celebrate what you like
Go on and dance through the night
Go on be one with the light
Full of life

The stone is thrown
It's coming fast
The next thing you know
It's crashing through the glass
Now we're down on our knees picking up the scraps
Whatever it takes we're gonna build it back

If you don't speak out
We can't hear it
Our love is always here
Here in spirit
And all those who came before
Here in spirit

Here in spirit

And don't you know you can call on me
Here in spirit
And don't you know you can call on me
Here in spirit
And don't you know you can call on me
Here in spirit
And don't you know you can call on me
Here in spirit

Call on me  Call on me  Call on me  Call on me
Yeah

Mule w Ann Wilson Please ! At Sick ! hoping.

brandi carlyle live right now?

or taped , but streaming on relix site via link at top of thread at moment, anyway...

stu, im gonna scroll thru mixlr, see what i can see

yup...that s live, w phil and phamily band next...mulewilson @ 9

OMFUG Grahame is just a downright AWFUL singer.  But yeah we knew this already . . .

Sounds is off on the webcast -- missing a guitar?

The Family Band is sounding great! Nice to see them play a big place.

Seriouslee, I had this stream on for the last few hr's w/speakers out the window doing yard chores, when TFB's set started I had to run inside & turn it down ASAP lest my neighbors think I was skinning my cats alive.

Oh and that transition into Rider was lamer than DeadCo's Black Peter -> Rider non-transition @ SPAC . . . .

Sideshow hang in there bro & be glad that 77.5 year old Phil Lesh is on stage bro!

WHAT ! Phil On Fire stream !!

Two words:

Ross Mother Fucking James!

NO at GL  ! no

That's three of not four words, depending on how you treat mother fucking.

Well I was happy for a sec when they started X-eyed then Grahame started singing it . . .

They nailed it

BROKEN ARROW   OH YEA!

Broken Arrow

Tar W

Phil.

Reading that "Quick Chat w/Phil Lesh" linked in that other thread, amongst the Golden Nuggets:

You mentioned Terrapin Crossroads. How do you feel the space is moving the Grateful Dead’s music forward?

"Right up there, too, is reading stories and singing songs for kids on Sundays."

I mean, yeah, I'm happy for him and all, hell, I've Retired & am Done ever Working again & I'm only 56

>>>>>> They nailed it

"I ate a Quickie Mart hot dog & couldn't distinguish it from a Gordon Ramsey rated 5 star restaurant"

I loved that he wouldn't even touch discussing recording Terrapin Station.  Apparently he didn't remember the drummer (can't remember his name) who had a bad junk habit who came in & stole microphones & other equipment to support his habit so the tech's had to interrupt sessions to lock down all the recording rooms.

Warren Better Come Out for a Huge Low Spark ! Phil !!

St Stephen Warren and Phil LOCKN

SICK

Rockin' at Lock'n

Wouldn't be the 1st time Warren has Bailed Phil out.  I remember the Brazilian restaurant . . . .

phil , pham, and warren....nice

I'm sorry, I mean, I love Phil to all the ends of the earth, & wish him all the best in the world, but this just plain SUCK-DIDDLY-UCKS

Guess I need to pour another drink & get even more Surly

i don't get this ross guy

at all

heh heh

>>>>>>> i don't get this ross guy

Credit where Credit is due:  I thought his Rendition of "Takes A Lot to Laugh" @ the Cap in May was quite Compatible with his, um, vocal "style"

LMAO the dropouts are almost Merciful @ this point.  I want MULE!!!!!!!

DESTROYED T for Texas WH.PHIL.

Please no Warren!

And these vocals suck balls!!!!!!!

Still love Phil although the search is over for surecrying

I can't decide if I dislike grahams guitar tone or voice more.

Credit where Credit is due:  This Slipknot is better than DeadCo's

i hope im rocking like phil at that age....

more power to him....

turn up the bass!!!

Look at all the happy faces in the crowd.

You can Fool Some of the people Some of the Time

but, slip mighta been best part of that HSFr etc....;)

Grahame's guitar playing his definitely improved. Still not in the league of any of Phil's real friends, but he was solid on this UBC.

Nice thing about TFB as well is that they're actually sort of a band and play together a lot, unlike the one-off no rehearsal P&F lineups, which helps with transitions and flow.

Larry Campbell and Shecky Greene?

>>> Larry Campbell and Shecky Greene?

Also had that "band" feel more, even if they didn't hit the heights like the Q.

The Jason Crosby violin on this Stella is very nice. That guy is underrated

Crosby PHIL ~~~ Stella

Where's my MULE?!?!?!?!?  Gawd already SOFAKING done w/this . . .

And people say Bob or John should leave this one alone.....

Worst Stella by far.....

I'm probably in the minority here. Also wish they would just do UC as an all instrumental.

>I'm probably in the minority here.

No

all bands runneth over sideshow...u looking at 930 at best

It would be nice if Alex Koford could take a few classes at the John Molo school of contrapuntal drum fills

ok, lets name all the bands where the drummer has best vocals....

I smell a Jack Straw

If you didn't enjoy Bob's power strums on the Jack Straw downbeats, I don't know what to tell you

Nice to see Phil and Bobby on the same stage together.

Love those guys.

terrapin album is tonite???

im all messed up...thought it was tmrw...

works out perfectly....just like always

disco...nora water girl.....mixlr

Thanks for the head's up on this event, and for the You Tube link, Judit.

>>>>>>> Worst Stella by far..... I'm probably in the minority here.

I'm 1000% with ya.  In fact, seems like a Westie thing to follow bands that sing Stella Blue really badly (Nelson Band, Moonalice, a few others).  Guess it's a "hey they're Fam-Fam, we can't Dare criticize" thing, or just the ol' "Gee I get Misty Eyed Every Time I Hear the Song" thing.  Stella Blue, along with all the other Jerry ballads, is only as Engaging as the singer who is singing it, IMHO.  For me, nowadays, beyond not really wanting to go see GD covers in the 1st place, but if I'm forced, then it's pretty much limited to Warren or JK or maybe even Jeff Matson.

"The Warren of Many Chins" lmao

>>>>>> transitions and flow.

Eh?  When/where?  Coulda fooled me, all I heard was song/stop/song/stop all set.  Very DeadCo-esque.

maybe Mattson...geez Bob...maybe Mattson...I am shaking my head is disbelief! You're a tough cookie to crunch! surprise

Stu, audio stream of the webcast.

http://mixlr.com/h2oradio--2/

Funny how the best vocals from the set came from Phil.

Damn I was just thinkin' "I need a Pissbreak" they bust into Soulshine

Fuck yea SS

That's the nice thing about couching

you can pee and not miss a nothing

Ahhh aaaa Ahhhhhhhhh . . .  Ahh

Now THAT'S Cheez Rock!!!!!!

Super hot sexcapades were musically directed by thorazine shuffle>>whatever was next ~~~(:

My old pal Rob who opened my heart in 2000 loves SoulShine, so it's dear to me because of him (:

Brutal

Brutal

Oh shit that *was* Bobby singing with Phil?

lololol between 10 whatever pm glasses chat>>> Ro

This thread is paved with some gold

Jagr i turned it waaaaaay down  (;

P.s. just get a free trial of Sirius yo

This Janis cover is substantially better than anything they've done with her yet.

How are they changing between performers so quickly?  I see those circular tracks on the stage, do they just roll the entire stage 180 degrees?  Or are there 2 side by side stages (that's what Vibes used to do)/

I liked Ann Wilson's guest spot, not as good as Scofield @ Peach, not by a million miles . . . .

is there a JRAD set tonight?

Bob and Phil sound good.  Too bad there's no lead guitarist on stage.

Yes, the stage revolves 180 degrees and they just turn it around when one band is done and the next is ready to start.

yeah, i wish they woulda put together a heavier hitting ensemble for this.

Bob's in really fine form by current bob standards

>>  Too bad there's no lead guitarist on stage.

They whiffed the Estimated, but both Grahame and RJ had good solos in the earlier set

No one's ever allowed to outshine Bob Star

"Good" is a Relative thing

Just a tinsy winsy little practice now and then before these things guys............please..........

Phil classic "WTF" moment

Jason Crosby w/ a WTF moment as well when Bobstar came back w/different chorus than expected.

Ok ok, no practice, how about at least listen to the album beforehand...............please.................lol

What the hell are these extra Passenger lyrics?

The best I could hope for is they try to do Mercy of the Fool, an outtake left on the cutting room floor.  It'd @ least be Interesting . . .

I'm thinking that both Hoover & Coyotte's bands would probably be better than this . . .

Here it comes:  "And I Know . . . We'll Be There . . . . SOOOOONNNNNN!!!!!!!!

Embarassing

Am I crazy, or since when did Bobby ever have a Whammy bar before?  Geez I haven't been paying attention much lately . . .

Extra Hunter verses for Terrapin?

143 Lockn

Is this Hunter's Terrapin Part 2? Don't think this has ever been performed by anyone besides Hunter

Phill my PULSE 143

Wow they showed the stage rotating & JRAD started while still rotating

Oh gawd now to Endure these guys Singing after 2 sets of Grahame & RMFJ Singing.  More Punishment than any Sane person should be made to Endure.  I'm off to bed . . . .

With the exception of Nikki, the Terrapin album paled from the version they did at Furthurfest in 2010. Drummer doesn't really have the chops for some of it.

Fine way to end my day. Love Joe, Tommy and the boys.

Wish I was there with you phreaks

Love you all

Hey Merri Girl! I always love your appearances. heart

Hi Judit!

Miss hanging around but summer is my busiest time. Boo.

Did a drive by because the music is my muse!

Hope all of you beautiful people are doing well.

Love to all, no exceptions

XOXO

J F'n RaADDddddd

I'll be back

JRAD playing tunes from Phil's setlist a few hours ago. Very strange.

Yeah, we know you blow away the Terrapin Family Band.

Lost the stream....

MMJ guy joining in

Hey Sigmund, are you Richard from KC?. If so, I've been trying to email/pm you, please check on YT.

Gov't Mule are a bad ass band. Wow. I enjoyed that set.

The sound of Phil playing the bass live reminds me every time I hear it that I exist. When he's playing with a group of other master musicians they spur each oter on and that's when faces melt. The Family Band are all developing as journeyman players [As an aside, Midnight North rocked it at Jerry Day in SF a few weeks back] and they deserve much credit (especially for having thick skins under the scrutiny of the Phans!), but we would all love to see Phil performing with musicians near his stature.Phil will as always do what he wants. God Bless you Phil!

Bob Weir has always been and always will be a rock star. He's also a cowboy music superstar. God Bless you Bob!

God Bless you Phellow Phans! Viva la Zone!

Ready for round 2!! cool

pigeons playin ping pong at 3....fun band

The Suffers couldnt make it out of the Houston TX area so they had to cancel- next up is;

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong @ 3PM EDT

Keller Williams - 4PM EDT

Greensky Bluegrass - 530PM EDT

John Butler Trio - 7PM EDT

John Fogarty - 830PM EDT

Widespread Panic - 10PM EDT - I hope we get them!

Joe Russo's Almost Dead - 12AM EDT

I stopped listening last night.... thanks for posting that, Zooey

Nicole Atkins has a hot, smoky sound

Would go see her any day

Here's an explanation of the Heal Charlottesville Fund that is accepting donations. Ben & Jerry’s, Airstream and YouTube each stepped up quickly so 100% of what we raise will go to the Charlottesville Community Fund and HeadCount. Both organizations do the below the radar work every day to help the world be a better place, so they were easy organizations to support right now.”

Full fund explanation here ~ http://www.cacfonline.org/news/detail/heal-charlottesville-fund

You can securely donate here online without texting ~ https://cacf.iphiview.com/cacf/GivingOpportunities/OnlineContribution/ta...

Also - from what I have gathered Widespread Panic will be on the webcast tonight! Yeehaw!

Last night for TFB was more of a miss than a hit - and the recreation of the Terrapin album was a miss (one of the worst dancing in the streets that I have ever seen with both Phil and Bobby on the stage).  The UBC more than made up for it. It was also a treat to see Phil beaming proudly at his son during the extra verses of terrapin.  It was also great to see an energetic and focused Bob during Jack Straw.

Nicole Atkins has appeared with Jim James and the MMJ crew before - I would love to see her take the spot that Jenny Lewis vacated in the Sound Summit lineup.

Edit: unfortunately she is in NYC on 9/9 so I don't think that will happen!

I thought Ann Wilson killed it with Mule last night. She only got better as her (way too short) set progressed.

Also , the webcast mix for JRAD was very uneven, with both guitars buried in the mix. Incompetence or politics?

Absolutely, Zooey

Get her on MT TAm Jam- STAT!

noKeller Williams = YOU SUCK !no

God Lord, from the pictures, it seems like they are really packing them in like sardines into the main stage area.

Keller's TSA doobie thing is funny.

Greensky!!! heart

Liking Greensky !

So, UM, Keller and Greensky. What happened to Warren w/ Ann?

Is there an archive to watch last night's?

 >>Liking Greensky !

one of my favs.. argh.. i wish i could have stayed for tonight.. at least i caught them a few times earlier this summer..

Enjoy!!

fogerty

how goods this guy? wow.

rock out or john fogerty will kill u!

John still puts out. A great performer/rocker/singer.

Seems like a good, ernest guy, after reading his autobiography. Too bad he got screwed by his manager and other CCR bandmates.

72 and takin names

Fogerty sounds great! Rockin set and some decent jamming in there

Great Panic set with thoughtful covers of Stop Children What's That Sound and later A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall.

And JRADs are up!

What's with the hipsters singing Jerry songs? Oh yeah, so this is the mighty JRAD people are talking about? Jeez.. can you say YAWN?

Aside from Dave Dreiwitz who plays bass for Ween I see nothing but yet another Grateful Dead cover band cashing in.. sad

Bob Weir playing with JRAD right now. sounds good to me, Black Throated Wind

https://www.relix.com/locknlive/

> I see nothing but yet another Grateful Dead cover band cashing in

thanks for sharing

i turned panic off.

scarf dude looks like hoover

JBOB (or WeirRAD) was great. Everyone's really on their game tonight.

ok, cant do jrad. too fast.

Go to bed, Turtle, old Fogerty.

Funny moment when Weir tells Russo he's starting Jack Straw too slow...really!?

I like Barry Sless and Molo--they're on the stream now...

+ Jorma !

Awesome !!yes

Replace Roger with David Nelson = Awesome Band !  dream right?

Good Shephard ! SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET !!

So players like molo, sless, Haynes, herring, jorma, Russo, and Jim James r at this festival and Phil is playing with the family band and moe.?

what the hell kind of a world r we living in?

good Point E !!

Goddamn u, trump's America!

Monsters !! Sless Sears Molo = SO Beautiful !

You're right E. I blame Trump, I mean Shapiro...er...

Jorma and Barry sound rad!

Yea Jorma & Moonalice!

Here's the rest of todays schedule -

The Record Company - 4PM EDT

JJ Grey & Mofro - 5PM EDT

Margo Rice - 6PM EDT

The Revivalists - 7PM EDT

Phil.Moe - Phil Lesh & Friends & Moe - 8PM EDT - (that's how it is listed on the Lockn Schedule)

The Avett Brothers w/ Bob Weir - 930PM EDT

Not sure if we will get this too but maybe: Jerry Dance Party featuring DJ Jerrbrother - 12AM EDT

Jorma and Moonalice live at Lockn'! This is happy music!

Enjoying this MoonAlice set while I'm painting today.

Furious E -- My thoughts exactly, but it seems like Phil is dedicated to being a mentor to others, which is cool, too.

Late last night I almost started a new thread: Name your dream Phil lineup from among artists at Lockn this weekend.

Mine:

The Phil and the Jcube: Phil, Joey, Jorma, Jason

BassMe:  Phil, Schools, Sears, Sless, Molo, Jason

(no name) Phil, Joey, Benevento, Sless, Hamilton, w/ Nicole Atkins

well, caught the tail end of Jorma

I rewound to the dirty dozen brass band

Rewind 4 Winds Ignore Roger !

yeah!  I like the rewind feature.

I rather enjoyed that Tuna-esque MoonAlice set.  Liked the JRAD last night also.

Shame on me! It's Margo Price not Rice. Her & her husband sold their car to get the cash to make her debut solo album "Midwest Farmer's Daughter".

I didn't know about the other tough times she has endured. Family lost farm, she lost a child, a weekend in jail. She performed last year @ SXSW! This year at Bonnaroo & now Lockn = Great for her! I am psyched for her!

>>> What is it about country music, that tragedy can lead to such powerful songs?

I feel like that's been a truth about country music since its beginnings.

It's true. It's the songs of the working man and real-life situations that make it honest, and make it something different than maybe pop music. I don't know what's drawn me to it so much, but I think a lot of the tragedy and the lonesomeness, there's something uplifting in there as well. It's like when you hear George and Tammy sing a song about divorce.

>>> George Jones and Tammy Wynette, you're talking about?

Yes. Just the lost dreams — you somehow hear their voices trying to conquer it.

>>> Was there some kind of connection between putting your life in order and getting your music career to where you have this debut album?

You know, I've been trying to figure all this out — how it happened, because I thought I was going to be cursed forever. I didn't think there was much of a chance. But a lot of it is about taking the bad things and, as cliché as it sounds, really growing from them and learning from them. And that's kind of like the phoenix rising from the ashes, you know? You can't let every bad thing that happens to you in your life overtake you.

Wake up Wake up!

PhilMOE now, Box opener.

Worst BOR I may Have Ever heard ?

Well, there's THAT.... I'm not a MOE fan, but still painting... so this is good background noise.

>>>Worst BOR I may Have Ever heard ?

was it the xylophone?

This is painful

so bad.

never stopped, never stopped....

ain't nuthin but a philmoe.

sounds like a bad high school gd band

i suppose Philsh may have been better...

So bad we don't even get an encore?

Mediocre year.

It seems the avett brothers were confused which guitar player did what in the gd as they keep giving bob solos and singing his songs ?

Almost like being in church bobby-phil-old-church.jpg

Moonalice with Jorma had some great moments. Sless ripped on Rider. 8 Miles High had some old school psychedelic jamming.

Philmoe & Bob was pretty good, despite a few hiccups.

Avett Bros were meh, got a little better with Bob. Nice ending.

This JRAD + Bob OMSN is just plain awesome: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWLRT4prXrA

Watch the glee on the guys' faces when Bobby does the trademark Bobby scream around 4:40 and again at 5:30. Pure joy. Gotta be the best Saturday Night Bob's played in years too. Hot damn.

^i agree. that was awesome. thanks for the link.

Only got to catch Sunday webcast enjoyed the whole day

Interesting for me was it seemed the best band of the day went first Keller was amazing with JK and the keybaord from jk Band (name?)

But I also enoyed Krasno's set his sound is very Tedeschi Trucks classic  / stax vibe he is a great player and singer and his band is high caliber

Moonalice was another highlight all I ever hear is the hating on here about them Granted Jorma stepped things up I enjoyed the original at the end too Great Band I would definitely go see these guys

I have been seeing moe since 94 and well Philmoe was great but I didn't realize until they took the stage No Rob then I remembered he is healing Prayers for Rb Great set !!! Bobby coming out was a great surprise just wish they had the mic thing together but good stuff

Avett Brothers was a total let down Bobby didn't come out until half way through and then they did a bunch of songs he sings that he didn't sing on. Masterpiece was great just looking for more of that.. (if I knew that's what they were going to do I would have watched GOT ) I am going to see the Avett Brothers with Willie in a few weeks and I like their songs on FUV (mostly the banjo guys songs)

FullSizeRender_3.jpg

Fun is fun,

Bob played a SVIP set in between stints with this band

Here's video of the (a?) Super VIP set -- Phil/Bob, then Russo joins, then Grahame: https://www.facebook.com/rob300c/videos/10212445824288058/

^damn.....
