 AXS TV

Tune in this Saturday starting at 7/6c for a full lineup dedicated to the one and only Grateful Dead

This weekend we’re celebrating one of the most legendary and iconic bands in the entire world. Join us for an entire evening featuring programming all centered around the dead. First up, a look into their career on Rock Legends. Then, back-to-back programs featuring Bob Weir – Rock & Roll Road Trip and The Big Interview. For our grand finale, we premiere a stunning symphonic celebration to Jerry Garcia featuring Warren Haynes.

Check out the entire lineup for the day below:

7/6c   Rock Legends: Grateful Dead
7:30/6:30c   Rock & Roll Trip with Sammy Hagar with Sammy Hagar featuring Bob Weir
8/7c   The Big Interview: Bob Weir
9/8c   Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration featuring Warren Haynes

Last year on August 1, the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration Featuring Warren Haynes concert was held at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado. AXS TVwill soon premiere footage from the all-star performance as part of the channel’s annual “days between” celebration between Garcia’s birth on August 1 and death on August 9.
Held on what would have been Jerry’s 74th birthday, the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration featured Warren Haynes on Garcia’s legendary custom-built Doug Irwin guitar named Tiger. Haynes and Tiger were backed by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, and a core band made up of drummer Jeff Sipe, bassist Lincoln Schleifer and vocalists Jasmine Muhammad and Jacklyn LaBranch. The evening’s third set featured keyboardist Melvin Seals joining his former Jerry Garcia Band mate LaBranch on stage as various lineups of the core band took over. The concert concluded with Anders Beck and Dave Bruzza of Greensky Bluegrass also sitting-in.

Not worthy of its own thread, but this is also streamed this weekend. Saturday's should be good.

Jam Stampede w/ Kenny Brooks from Ratdog - A Very Jerry Weekend Night Two

Saturday, August 5, 2017

8:00pm  11:59pm

We are very excited to have Jam Stampede back for a very special show on the Saturday in the days between (Jerry's birthday & passing). Jam Stampede is far and away my favorite GD Tribute and if you check out the video below you can see why. Most of the band members are veteran players from many other great projects. Zen Tricksters, Donna Jean, JKB and more.

Happy to announce that Mike Miz will be making his return on lead guitar for this show!!! What a player!! Not to be missed!!

Joining them for the evening is Kenny Brooks from Ratdog which is always a real treat.

Watching the Nugs Stream...   very rocky start (no audio), then it was a straight out error message for a half hour...    argh!

Fortunately, they got it dialed in, now watching Anders Osborn w/ a few members of Jerry's acoustic band, been most excellent so far!

Weir with JGB - Melvin, Oteil, Hamilton, Jackie and Gloria and Kamasi on Sax doing Senor - amazing.

^^^^

Very sweeeeeetttttt! Great end to (insert term) week!

Wolf > Tiger > Tangled up in Blue.

On fire...

If I had a dog that looked like nugs video directors direct.............I'd shoot it.

Well that was interesting   (my friend my friend he's got a mic)

Sodom and Gomorrah sung by Oteil, hell yes!

Thanks

Sodom and Gomorrah sung by Oteil, hell yes!<<<<

That would just be "Gomorrah".

Hunter just left the sodomy out of it.

LOL, did a quick copy and paste job so I'd spell it right, forget the Sodomus deletus

Bob solo acoustic on Loose Lucy, and nailing the shit out of it!  (hope this ends up on youtube)

The Acoustic live now...sounds great...

I strongly suggest that you get to the Acoustic for Jam Stampede tonight.  They smoked it last night smiley
