Light at the end of the Covid tunnel

Forums:

Last two months have been rough but check out the trend!

Covid Deaths 2-20-21.pdf_.png

Rates of new infections and hospitalizations are falling precipitously too and with more and more people being vaccinated each day, don't see this trend stopping.

scientific method and dedicated scientists,

NOT stubbornness, or selfishness, or arrogance, or carelessness, or defiance, or flat-out stupidity, or useless fucking politicians, or...

And an endless "Thank You, health care professionals!!!!!!!"

But what about my constitutional rights to not wear a mask ?!?! After half-a-million deaths, some clowns still think it's a hoax.

If we'd had Biden's leadership previously, the death count would be lower. Sure the vaccine production timetable wouldn't have changed much, but earlier planning and distribution would've saved lives.

Big shout out to our health care professionals and all those helping with the effort. I get my second tomorrow. There's a light at the end of the tunnel, and I don't think it's a train.

i can go to any local store on any given day and it's, at best, 50/50 mask wearers....many non-mask wearers are older folks, too, who would definitely be in the high risk category

but I live in OK and this pandemic has been a full education in attitudes, beliefs (personal, political) and abandonment of facts, but more disturbingly, good common sense.

glad the shots are getting out. It'll be a while for my shots, but my folks are due for their second shots soon. I'm very thankful for that.

January's New Yorker has a Long article about covid. Well written.   Disappointing that Mike Caputo took $300 million bucks from CDC's budget to reinforce Trump's message that the virus wasn't so dangerous.

Crazy people out there.

I gave 86 2nd dose vaccines today, filling in with some county volunteer work. The relief feeling people have when I hand them their card is palpable

Big anti mask scamdemic blah blah blah neighbor of mine.

Would see him every night but not for a month.

Saw his wife today....Phil has been in the hospital for 22 days and on a ventilator for 14.

It's still out there folks, It ain't the flu

Been 4.5 months for me and I still have low endurance for anything. Nothing for me to work 12-16 hours of hard hard labor. 45 minuets and I'm shot, last week it was 40.

Getting better

Thanks, fishcane.

Tim, still sending you the good thoughts. How's the rest of your family?

There's one guy at the gym who breaks the rules and doesn't wear a mask. He's a big, nasty dude and everyone is afraid to say anything to him. The guy served time for killing a someone in a bar fight (years ago, but still). I stayed as far from him as possible in non-Covid times.

Your welcome judit it's nice to be on this side of it after the nightmare we went through and seeing it play out

Bk pays to ride a bike?

Lol at riding a bike at the gym.

Driving 5 hours from New Paltz to Potsdam ( a few miles from the Canadian border) tomorrow to get me first jab. Could this be the first ever reward in history for having high blood pressure???

'Congrats! Step your hypertense ass up right here for your prize'

But that video WAS back in August of last year. Maybe he or a relative caught something since and woke him up. Like Tim's neighbor.

Got my first dose yesterday. Woop!

It's certainly possible, but I can just as easily see him marching back into that Sprouts and doing the same thing in April because he "already got his vaccine"

I think our collective mentality is STILL a lot closer in time to the witch trials of Salem vs. the idealistic future of Star Trek.

While I'm cautiously optimistic about seeing the light at the end of the covid tunnel, I'm leaning more towards "we're not out of the woods until we're out of the woods"

Pfizer is already working on a booster Covid that will offer protection against some of the newer mutant strains, including the South African strain. Covid ain't going nowhere, keep your masks on for now and help slow the spread.
