Let's talk about what happened at the Turkish Embassy in DC

Forums:

Holy f'ing crap!   Does anyone else find this extremely disturbing?  Has the White House released ANY sort of statement on this matter?

yawn

Have you ever been to a Turkish wedding?

This is simply a day in the park, so to speak.

Yeah, but how often to these things happen & does anyone believe it was an "accident"?

Still can't find any official statement from the White House.

Watch Erdogan himself order the attack, from his car, at the embassy:

Not really a melee, but thanks for the definition, Poolio. This was an attack, organized and executed by foreigners on U.S. soil.

A fracas or a rumpus?

Seabag is OK with this and will be along to explain why women had it coming.

White House waited until all the thugs were back in their beds at home to say anything.  No balls at all in their response

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Sunday denounced a violent clash in Washington last week involving Turkish security personnel and protesters, as the administration faced political pressure to respond.

In an interview on "Fox News Sunday," Tillerson said the State Department had called in the ambassador of Turkey to discuss the incident and say "that this is simply unacceptable."

"There is an ongoing investigation," he said. "We'll wait and see what the outcome of that investigation is. But we have expressed our dismay at what occurred at the Turkish Embassy."

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has called for the Turkish ambassador to be expelled. The incident occurred last Tuesday during protests surrounding a visit by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

This was an attack, organized and executed by foreigners on U.S. soil.<<<

It most certainly was.

^ like they couldn't have just slowly driven past protestors within their armor plated vehicles?

Is there any relationship between the Turkish Embassy assault on protestors and Trump?  ... not sure how or why exactly, but I interpret this at the very least as a signal or "message" of sorts.

Can you ever recall and incident where a foreign power deliberately attacked U.S. citizens on U.S. soil with said foreign power's highest executive present?  IOW, it didn't happen by accident with Erdogan present & even if he lapsed into a momentary reactive / rash judgment, he had to have known what he was doing in so far as viciously attacking one of the hallmark's (1st Amendment) of the most powerful nation the world has ever seen.

Again, I don't know the connection, but it kind of kicked my mind into a gear yesterday that broke out of the back and forth "arguments" between both sides and started to consider the things from the vantage point of Trump being "compromised" and how it's actually playing out in reality.  If this is the reality, part of our fate might be in the hands of foreign elements to some extent ... and I wouldn't be surprised if there are factions in the various foreign countries at play that are divided on how to "handle" Trump.  I'm sure there are some who want to subvert him to the greatest possible extent, and others who realize the explosive potential & might seek to contain him until he can be "dealt with" internally within the U.S.

Regarding the latter, I think McCain might be critical to steering the Senate into more balanced non-partisan waters.
