Boulderado is great (it's in Boulder, not Estes). Ask for the Prime Rib Hash for breakfast.
The Stanley is a classic old hotel. Take the ghost tour. Sunday Brunch is worth the scratch.
Drive is about 1h 20 min depending on traffic.

The Stanley Hotel is amazing
Antiques and gilded mirrors, bars, dance hall and it's a huge property
when we arrived we got the Sperry Poster, which is incredible up close!
they had a free Breckinridge beer tasting and buffet and Sweet Lillies performed on washboard /stand up bass...

The Hotel Boulderado. I stayed there so many times in the late 70's. I was living in Nederland & Evergreen & it was my place for entertaining & lodging. The Lady Crabneesh, & others, stayed there & dined with me many times. While in Boulder we would visit The Blue Note ( a jazz club owned by the label).
The Lady & I also stayed in The Stanley when in Estes Park but that was before the movie.
