Learn guitar with Dweezil Zappa

Forums:

Interesting concept with this current tour. You get a 75 min group lesson with Dweezil before the show for $75.

^he's held clinics before shows in the past

This is to affluent middle-aged white guys as the Jazz and People's Movement was to inner-city youths.

Good on you, Dweez. We need even more subpar amateur guitarists in the world.

I always thought Frank Zappa's guitar playing was quite interesting. But I guess for his son to pass that on to others could be harmful.

I wasn't aware of that. I still think it is an interesting concept.

Isn't the idea of a workshop/lessons so that the player becomes better? I can't seen how any lesson will create a more subpar guitarist. In reality it should only make them better.

Clinics are cool. I've gone to a number of drum clinics over the years given by drummers I admire and I've enjoyed every one of them. I can't say any of them made me a better drummer, but it was cool to hear about each players process and see them demonstrated up close.

If they don't actually help anyone get better they're certainly interesting and enhance the enjoyment level of a person's cool personal hobby.

It's sure as hell better than a meet-&-greet and a goodie bag.
