I always smiled while driving past the "AMPEX" sign in Redwood City on the way to the GD at Shoreline.
The one time I met Dick, he came into the place I was working when I happened to be cranking Dicks Picks 1.
I recognized him and mentioned it, and he immediately smiled and started talking enthusiastically about it like it
had been released yesterday.
What a nice guy and we were all lucky he was "all in" as a Dead Head.
