(Pardon the double post, Coffee has not kicked in yet...)
We got a few inches of Big fluffy flakes last night here in the Garden State. Not the 4" - 6" they were originally predicting, more like 1" - 3".
I was up at the Barn moving lumber indoors as the Snow started falling. Had some lights on, and what a beautiful sight !! Huge fluffy flakes with the classic old-school Snowflake designs; just the right temperature so you could see the intricate lace / needlepoint structures.
Hüsky was out there 'helping' and got a nice Snow-bath. He likes that Stuff all stuck to his Fur Coat like a Marshmallow blanket, as I was taking the wipers off the windshields, so they don't get frozen up.
He's going out for a run in the powder before the stuff all melts. Last one ??
8 inches here and it was a beautiful dawn with red and orange hues and those lovely flakes clinging to the trees until a breeze would come by to fill the air with sparkles.
Two inches or so here in Delaware, just enough to cover the lawns and make the trees beautiful. Really thick and sticky but it's supposed to get into the upper 40's today so it won't be here long.
There he goes, crossing the White Ash that fell across the Woods road a while back. Hüsky has no fear of minor obstacles, and jumps large Trees.
You can get the perspective of Snow-depth and Log-size in that shot. He is about a 74 - pound Dog. The White Ash logs near his fluffy butt weigh about the same... maybe a bit more for the double-face cut on his left. I saved that one to slab some Tele bodies. Might be 2-3 nice crotch slabs in there, or else Firewood.
Just as a point of record, Stu, corn snow only happens when snow has gone through a couple of thaw/freeze cycles. Behind powder, it is the most glorious of all skiing snows. It is akin to skiing on bed of ball bearings. Corn snow, as befitting the name, are small kernals of snow with ice as a binder.
When I decided to adopt the Hound, my goal was to provide H.I.M. with a cushy home, decent Food and plentiful Amusement, exercise, Fresh Air.
So far, Hüsky has done OK. Fine nutrition, plenty of exercise, and many layers of socialization. But he can't get much Snow in the Summer, which makes H.I.M. very sad
There's the Furry Fiend enjoying the last Snow. Stuff all melted away already, but VC claims we'll get March Blast. He is a Weather Witch, and probably knows stuff.
I did let H.I.M. loose for a Hour or so in the Snow. Not totally loose, but with his 16' lead clipped on the harness. So theoretically, I can catch Hüsky when he runs by me on the "Come Here Boy" call.
Or he'll get tangled in some brush. No worries, he is in the middle of 120 acres of Forest & Fields.
Boy Dawg got a nice Turkey Drumstick for his foto-shoot.
I shot 30-40 fotos, and they all were Pure Krap. Zone got the best handful.
It was snowy leaving a concert last night. Inch deep of slush & snow on the ground making it a dangerous walk to the cars. Folks were slipping every where.

What I would call "Corn Snow" as it was slushy with Ice - pellets, typical Eastie ski-slope conditions.
Hüsky does not judge the Snow much, a little is alright....
