Wow 25 years since Garcia at the Warfield. This was an ok show, especially for '95. Not great, not terrible.
I listened to the second set today and it was ...ok. He started the set with He Ain't Give You None, which I think is only the
second time in the opening spot. (Hartford '91). Struggling Man was fair, Think was pretty strong, Reuben, a bit tepid.
Dixie Down was a decent version and Midnight Moonlight was Midnight Moonlight. All and all, not the vim and vigor of years in the
not-so-distant past.
I remember a bit about this show because it was my first time on the rail in a few years and an old that I had done dozens
of JGB Warfield shows with gave me the spot. It was a lot of fun to be back up front again. Jerry was certainly in way better
shape than he would be by summer tour.
RIP JGB.
I miss you.

I may or may not have been at Church that particular night. I was at The Warfield many if not most JGB shows from 91 - 95. Probably the most fulfilling and joyful time in my life. Thank you, Jerry & JGB, Love you all dearly...

Thanks for the link!
Thanks for the link!
Our daughter was born exactly two years later, so we combined close but socially distant friends to celebrate her birthday from the front porch. A birthday show they call Golden*

Happy birthday to your daughter Atom! Great that you could hear it.
And thanks Doolittle for the link. I looked for it but forget it's under "jgb".
What a fun time that whole deal was. Garcia for $20 in a classic SF theatre.
(Well, except for the scummy underbelly of course).
But they fit right in on Market Street.

I know my last JGB show was
I know my last JGB show was during this run, but I'm not sure it was this one.
All I remember is that the first 20 minutes or so of my last show were COOKING and I was GROOVING, and then at some point I realized that something had changed. I looked around and realized that Jerry had basically stopped playing. He was just mumbling & barely noodling his guitar and it was sadly clear that he needed a "break".
It could have been this show, it could have been a lot of other shows in that late era.
I sure did love those days anyway, for the times it was COOKING.
What a cook Jerry was.
Thanks for posting this. It's a significant show, a significant date.

I attended the prior weekend (which was Easter I believe).
Jerry sang maybe two lines in Reuben & Cherise, then blew out the solo. Go figure. I remember being surprised by a He Ain't Give You None and a Positively 4th St.
