Lake Hemet Bald Eagles

Forums:

We took our first Kayak trip of the year on Lake Hemet since moving to the low desert.
Instanly found the pair of Bald Eagles that live on the Southeast side of the lake. The
two immature eagle chicks were just getting ready to fledge. One was already out of
the nest and out on a limb. The other one was still in the nest exercising it's wings.
What a sight!   https://www.flickr.com/photos/dan_ward_photography/albums/72157714855404896

Nice shot Dan.

Some of those photos are really great, as usual. I love the wing-tip feathers of the one on the bottom. Thanks for bringing me closer to eagles than I've ever been, Dan.

Cool photos~

Very cool photos!

Very nice!  How did you get some of those angles?

How did you get some of those angles?

The nest is about 50 yards West of the lake shoreline.
The tree where I got the single eagle shots was on a
point right on the shoreline. I just paddled around till
angle & light was right. They did not care that I was
right offshore photographing them. It helps to have
a lens that goes to 900mm! Hard to hold steady in
a kayak. You need lots of light & a real fast shutter speed.

nice shots as always.

pretty neat there are eagles this far south.

Excellent photos

wow, that's super cool!
