An absolute amazing show put on by the King Crimson at the Paramount Theater in Huntington tonight.
Best drumming I've experienced at a live concert since Carl Palmer tore down Nassau Coliseum with ELP some forty years ago.
Gavin Harrison is monster of a drummer. Flying all over the place like Omar Hakim. Pat Mastelotto is like John Bonham, Gong & chimes inclusive.
Micky Hart once said, "when two drummers are playing simultaneously & it's clicking, it's like two snakes chasing each other's tail". Throw in a third drummer to be a linear anchor and what we have is percussion heaven. Unbelievably large sounding.
Gavin Harrison was 20 feet from me & Robert Fripp about 25.
Fripp maybe bent his knuckle twice tonight; once during the show & then after the show to take a video of us happy King Crimson fans.
Jakko Jakszyk is the perfect vocal protégé to the late Greg Lake. Amazing talent. Good guitar player too.
The mix engineer said it was the best show of tour so far.
Very cool Bluelight. Sounds like a great show. Looks like your seats were pretty much identical to where I was. I agree, Gavin Harrison is a monster on drums. My buddy who’s a drummer is also a King Crimson fan, but had never seen them before. When he found out Gavin was with them he immediately wanted to go to the show I saw over the summer. He’s a big fan of his band Porcupine Tree.
Cool to see that they’re changing the setlist up a bit too. I haven’t heard them do Discipline since Adrian Belew & Bill Bruford were touring with them.
They did play Heroes at The Capitol in Port Chester on 11/15. 1st row loge, the sound was fantastic, especially the drums. Tony Levin played a solo on the stand-up electric bass, never saw him do a solo before.

Actually Carl Palmer's {ELP Legacy 2018 legacy band} is now performing King Crimson's 20 Century Schtzoid Man and it sounds amazing.
Nothing against Bill Burford but Carl takes it to another level.
ELP did record it 20 years ago as Greg Lake was a key orignal member of King Crimson and is the vocalist on Crimson's 20th Century Schitzoid Man
But Carl said, he and Keith Emerson had to learn the track.
Pretty sure Robert Fripp has not authorized this rendition and I do not have the warm and fuzzys about publishing that Carl Palmer show I went to, but I will after 11/1 due some bad marks I have that get voided 10/31.

The seat I was looking at
The seat I was looking at cost $125. I guess they have to pay 3 drummers, Robert Fripp & Tony Levin isn't a low budget bass player..
Is a King Crimson concert like a tennis match, where your not allowed to clap? I would need to know this.

That was Garcia. He was talking about the ouroboros, the "serpent or dragon eating its own tail." The metaphor doesn't really work if it's two snakes.

"Heroes" was among the four songs they played for their encore in San Diego in June. Didn't hear it at either of the East Coast shows I saw.
