Yeah, it's the body cam footage. They sneak into his backyard, don't identify themselves as police, shout "SHOW ME YOUR HANDS" and then shoot him 1.5 seconds later. Dude probably didn't even have time to realize what was happening before he was executed.
One of my colleagues just obtained a six million dollar verdict on behalf of his client who was shot up standing in his North Portland doorway by a SWAT team. The cops were creeping through his back yard in the middle of the night looking for a nearby perp when dude came out and started yelling at them pistol in hand. Cops didn't identify themselves and instead shot up the house. They left the dude laying there in his doorway for 10 minutes before attempting first aid. They also forced his family out at gunpoint and they had to step over the shot up guy on their way out. Dude lived but has permanent crippling injuries.
Most of my hometown contemporaries who became cops were lifelong idiots. At least three were shady greenslingers prior to passing the test. At least four would be busted for crimes (theft, drugs, butglary) in their first three years on the force. One on the day he made sargeant. But the douchiest got a gold shield.

- The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York upheld a lower court’s decision that the city did not discriminate against Robert Jordan because the same standards were applied to everyone who took the test.
- the theory that those who scored too high could get bored with police work and leave soon after undergoing costly training.
Zachary Williams is a 21-year-old black Wayne High School grad who wants nothing more than to be a Dayton police officer or firefighter.
His test results are pending the Justice Department’s demand that the city lower its passing score for a police exam to allow for a larger pool of black applicants, while the city argues it is trying to ensure it hires the most qualified candidates.
There was a dude in Oregon who was running from a police roadblock and reached for a gun and got shot and some folks martyr him and call him a hero who was assassinated.
Oh, that's right. He was white, wore a cowboy hat, and claimed to be a patriot cause he had American flags around.
He claimed to love God and Jesus, but just days after celebrating the "Prince of Peace" at Christmas he rounded up his guns and drove across state lines to hijack lands and take over a federal facility. Obviously to do good, of course.
So goldang sick of this shit. Cops have training, numbers, and bulletproof vests and they need to take at least as much time as a civilian would to ascertain the dangers before shooting someone 20 times. Cops are supposed to be braver and more responsible than the rest of us, not less.

Old Lavoy Finicum. That dude had a death wish and got what he wished for.
Still, there are all kinds of weird stuff with the ambush that continues to fuel the conspiracy theories.
Now if it had been anyone darker than Lily white cowboys who took over the facility, the whole thing would have been over in a few hours.
