Keith Richards once pulled a knife on Trump

<<  As the story goes, The Stones booked a gig at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall to conclude the American leg of their Steel Wheels tour. The show was sponsored by Donald Trump, but only after he agreed to not be involved in any of the concert’s promotion, or even attend the show for that matter (apparently The Stones weren’t fans of the future Republican presidential candidate).

Shockingly enough, Trump ended up reneging on his promise. As tour manager Michael Cohl recounted to Pollstar, “I get word that I have to come to the press room in the next building. I run to the press room in the next building and what do you think is happening? There’s Donald Trump giving a press conference, in our room!”

Cohl told Trump to leave; he initially obliged, only to return five minutes later.

When Richards got wind of Trump’s actions, “he pulls out his knife and slams it on the table and says, ‘What the hell do I have you for? Do I have to go over there and fire him myself? One of us is leaving the building – either him, or us.’”

Ultimately, Trump left the band’s press room, but not before “three shtarkers he’s with, in trench coats, two of them are putting on gloves and the other one is putting on brass knuckles.” Cohl said he responded by calling the band’s head of security, who “got 40 of the crew with tire irons and hockey sticks and screwdrivers.”

So if I bitch about you and throw a knife on a table in a room that you aren't in I can consider that pulling a knife on you?

Fuck yea

Great fucking story. That's why we love that band.  I was 5th row at that one. Slowhand and John Lee Hooker played. Phenomenal show.

I read the article twice, can't seem to find where Keith pulls a knife on Trump. Seems like they were in separate rooms, never even saw each other.

  Yawn.

So he didn't put blade to throat, great rockers vs mob thugs story nonetheless.

This is an old story that's been told many times.

At no point does Keith pull a knife on Trump but it would have been terrific if Keith would have killed Trump on that day and spare the world the scourge that is our fucking cunt of a President.

I do not think you were mentioned once in the story,  Thom.

I consider every time you defend Trump pulling a knife on me Thom

goons and gangsters and egomania

be proud (while squinting so as not to see the truth)

Trump was a democrat then though, right? Tough to remember, he’s taken a crap in every party out there at some point.

Difference is Keef was a badass then and he’s still a badass now.

I try to go out of my way not to personally disparage anyone on this forum, and I realize the vast majority of people who post here have no problem with what Bucky just posted, I have little doubt they'll rush to his defense...but to those that read these threads, please realize while this may be representative of this message board, it is not representative of the larger Grateful Dead community, it's a vile and disgusting display of the "off the rails" psychosis that unfortunately has become the fashion du jour among the keyboard warriors of the new left.

Hey Bry

please let us know when you have secured survey results of deadheads that support Trump

I stayed in the Trump Marina back in the early 2000's. What dump. Smelled like urine, cigarettes, and colostomy bags rolled into one.
