There have been people like that going to GD and related shows for a long time. Many people over the years checked out a show just for the party or out of pure curiosity and had no idea what to expect or what it is was about. However, of those people, many ended up eating the acid, really clicking with the music, and getting on the bus. These girls obviously didn't, but I know lots of people who knew nothing about the Grateful Dead or Jerry Garcia, including a lot of leather clad headbangers, who went and by the end of the show, they were up grooving with the best of them.
My first Dead & Co experience at the Gorge and holy shit, I get why people have been following this band across the country for decades. All I want to do is go on tour now. I feel like I finally found family!!
