It's music played by two guys
It's music played by two guys I've seen live allot of over the years. There most recent Warfield show which was my last time there before pandemic blues. John & Melvin are a good fit. John made his name with Dark Star which is when I first seen him live at GAMH and then of course with Furthur.
Back to Georgia Comes Alive a virtual music festival going all day today.

I doubt Jerry's estate gets
I doubt Jerry's estate gets anything from the name of Melvin's band.
Jerry's name isn't in the band name, and Jerry never called or billed his band as JGB; that's what WE called it. Jerry's band was The Jerry Garcia Band, and Melvin doesn't call his band that.
In this case and at this point, who really cares? Melvin's done a good job keeping that band going and sounding good for what, 15 - 20 years now?
He's got bills to pay, so IMO, as long as the product is good, then good for him.

Like I said, I like the band.
Like I said, I like the band. In fact they are the last band I saw live this yr. Up in Eureka area on Feb 28th I think. Next day started the shut down.

Like the band a lot. Some of the stuff out there makes me think that people are trying too hard, when I hear this it rings true and has a depth and soul that is not a just cover band. I like them because they create their own goosebumps in places familiar to me.............
