I was at the early show on that date. Great great vibe, Donna and Maria Muldaur singing and dancing together on stage. Awesome times. Passaic's a pit though, even back then.

Those shows with Maria were the bomb. Saw a bunch of shows with this lineup at the Keystone. In many ways my favorite Jerry band configuration.

I was at these shows.
Was fortunate to catch JGB at the Cap in Passiac 1977, before I ever saw the Grateful Dead.
Miss that guy!

Only Cap Passaic show was "Go
Only Cap Passaic show was "Go Ahead" w/ Hot Tuna opening. There were cockroaches dancing upon the armrests of the theater seats, a nice bonus. They towed my truck from Kentucky Fried Chicken lot (duhhh) but fortunately, the guys whose car caught on fire kicked in enough $$ to get it out of impound. I gave them a lift home to New Brunswick.
Passaic itself was a fine example of urban blight. I understood why my parents had no objection if I went to Manhattan as a kid, but strongly discouraged me from visiting Passaic. I could see that it might be a dangerous place without the safety of a friendly concert crowd.

The first time I saw Jerry
The first time I saw Jerry was with that band about a month earlier in Santa Cruz, with Robert Hunter's band opening.
My main memory is of walking out thinking that this Garcia guy was a deeper and more sophisticated player than I had thought.
We learn as we go.
