As in, we're getting beat up by the Weather.
Tons of Rain, ground is too wet & cold. Many South NJ farmers lost their Spring Lettuce crops to rot, bolting, etc.
I felt bad because I'm waaaay behind on transplanting Tomatoes, but my neighbor Farmer says he's about six weeks behind. He's only been farming about 40 years or so, and takes 'Ethnic Crops' to NYC area distributors... Cilantro to Zucchini, everything between.
Good news is that the USDA (or Jerseyland equivalent) is acknowledging the Krap Weather and might have some fund$ for 'Preventive Planting'. That means "We appreciate you are waiting for a break in the Weather, here's a few Pennies to tide you over..."

Wish it was that Irie here.
Wish it was that Irie here. They have not legalized it yet.
However, you're welcome to pick bushels of "Milkweed" if you like, in fact come dig up truckloads by their persistent Roots.

My best Vegetable fields are infested with the stuff. Former Hay fields, no chemicals.
Actually, most of the fields are Clover, Timothy, & Alfalfa, but there's enough Milkweed to make the hay 'Impure'.
Horses are allergic to the MW.
But I've no interest in Hay. That stuff attracts Horsepeople.
