Did somebody really pay a million bucks for this?

What exactly do you get when you own a Non Fungible Token?

Jerry would have preferred the fungible tokens.

What is that? The Grin Reaper?

“One of the most interesting things about Dead Heads is the cross-generational reach,” Grateful Dead publicist and historian Dennis McNally told The Chronicle. “So while I’m old and not even entirely sure what an NFT actually is, there’s an enormous slice of Dead Heads for whom this is a comfortable concept — and if it comes from Jerry’s creativity. I suspect they’ll want it very much. And I’m confident Jerry would love the idea of his work entering the digital/virtual realm.”

What gobbledygook!!!

McNally has no integrity in my world! GD Publicist say's it all!

Interesting find, Dave- thanks for sharing.

"Manasha" kind of flew under the radar- is she the mother of Keelin, who you also don't here much about?

OK- like Judit, Google is my friend. Keelin is Jerry's youngest, from Manasha, and did once have a money tussle with the conniving "Widow".

A definite Garcia resemblance, and probably his most attractive daughter.

Manasha is much younger than Barbara Meier, Sara, Mountain Girl or Debra Koons.

Maybe the older women would have seen her as a groupie?

Fungus tokes.

No need to bring up the fact that Jerry could do one thing well -- play music.  All the other aspects of his life were one big shit sandwich.

Jeez, Jonas. No need to mention that nobody's perfect, but I'd say ol' Jer had a lot of love in his life, also. Fun? No effen doubt.

>>>>>Neon Fungus Tokes

Band name, obviously.

"before they left for college, then never heard from them again. Damm shame, they were great kids and tons of good clean fun -"

Non-Fungible Tokin'

Lot slinger smokin' up his supply?

Jerry was a pretty decent story-teller, and from what I recall, he made an excellent Bundt Cake.

Let's not forget the impressive chef skills: "water chestnut, LEAN bacon, and toothpick's".

From the Bitcoin thread..... smiley 73guy on Thursday, May 6, 2021 – 11:12 pm "Rare piece of art by Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia to be sold as NFT for more than $1 million" https://datebook.sfchronicle.com/music/rare-piece-of-art-by-grateful-dea... "The list price for “Gift” is 309 Ethereum cryptocurrency, which is equivalent to a little more than $1 million. The artwork features a psychedelic figure with a mohawk and rat tail, wearing quasi-religious garments and holding a cane. The auction caption describes him as “a smiling forward-thinking interstellar being” who plays a musical staff: “We experience his colorful epiphany of giving and receiving in a range of rainbow hues — purples, reds, oranges, yellows, greens, and blues. We experience ‘Gift’ as a realization of gratitude, an uplifting vision perceived through tangible abstractions.”
