I listened to the new album yesterday.

I haven't heard the Whipping Post

mmk, good singer/songwriter, 

but nothing spectacular on the record

from the list above Anxiety, If We Were Vampires  stood out on the record

I'll give it another listen, the excitement by some seems over the top.

However, I underestimate artists all the time.

eg: Tom Petty

Is he less-country Sturgill lite?

Was just at the beacon show last fri. 

The little that I have listened to him all sounds the same. I guess I should try some more.

The Mountain Goats were fantastic. His show was amazing, and the wipping post was killer. :)

I'm planning on going to Outlaw Music Festival at Summerfest in Milwaukee next Sunday. It's not often you get a 10 hour concert with multiple headliners appearing all day. I'm going mostly to see Dylan one last time. Willie is actually the headliner, playing the last set. I believe it's $110 face for all pavilion tickets. They usually release first 10 rows the day before, or day of, show which they are holding for band members. I'm thinking there will also be some once in a lifetime collaborations. Though I'm not a huge Jason Isbell fan, I'm looking forward to checking him out. The Margo Price, Lukas Nelson, and Sheryl Crow sets will be live streamed on the Jimmy Kimmel live website.

Heard him solo acoustic on prairie home companion on Saturday and still think the material is pretty mediocre for the most part although I do kinda like that 'something more than free' song

He isn't bad. Checking out the HOB show now. Not sure if I would pay to see him at this point (I am broke), but maybe someday...

Does Buncombe still come around these parts? he was a big DBT fan. I have only seen them once at 'roo in 2009 with Booker T but would like to see them again. Apparently Jason Isbell played the flynn last year. When the wife finishes grad school and the youngest is out of day care I will see more music again. Got to bide my time and and be patient, good things come to those that wait.

Drive By Truckers are playing a show out in West Hampton, LI & tickets sales are down for that one. It's only 3 weeks away.

I've never seen them.

Saw him for the first time last night in Milwaukee- loved, loved, loved his set. And, closing it up with a shredding Whipping Post was just the icing on the cake.
