What a shitshow jim jordan and the other repubs have turned this into,, and it hasn't even started yet.
Whitewash the covid impact, even after hundreds of thousands of deaths.
Whitewash Jan 6th,, like anyone with a functioning brain could misinterpret it as anything but a violent insurrection against our democracy.
All for trump loyalty, and hope of reelection.
How sad we have come to this level of dysfunction. How sad to know the ship of reason has sailed away from us never to return.
Smoke em if ya got em.

So then Bss, what are the Republicans so legislatively focused on? They are instead very actively attempting to whitewash the disaster that was Jan 6 at The Capitol while simultaneously trying to derail everything else. Yes, both sides are hyper-political but why defend either?

If someone isn't sickened over a president sending a mob to attack the US Capitol to attempt to overturn an election he lost? And his party is largely supporting him since that day?

BThey are 100% focused on
Legislatively, the R's are 100% focused on undermining anything that starts with a D.
The minority leader has already proclaimed this from the hilltops.
Did you not hear him?
i'm saying negotiating with *that* being the starting point, isn't a bipartisan *anything*, and most certainly not a negotiation. That's all.
Separately, and also at state levels, the GOP are focused (and succeeding) on completely assaulting voting rights.

Both parties have similar
Both parties have similar financial wings on the same (PAC) bird
Party platforms are designed for Divide and Conquer, which they do quite well. (how much party platforms ever get legislated by either side?)
(some of you argue how they're the same, some argue how they're different, yada yada)
If you follow the money, it's usually about who gets the contract (Koch oil pipelines vs Buffetts trains, etc)
Whereas wars usually go back to controlling resources (oil), putting in a regional military base (except in Africa, only China has a base there), giving out contracts, and controlling trade routes, etc
As citizens, we fall into our traps quite well! Even thinking outside the box, challenging the status quo, or protesting various issues, seems to always be against a brick wall of power.... but if enough people complain, they'll often get some people treats to shut them up (lip service type bills).
But all said and down, it's interesting to see what bills our national leaders are able to pull off... usually a little sugar for the base, and a whole lot of $ for our oligarch bitches out there, both parties are greatly disappointing, but to me, one is pure evil, while the other is just fucked up... I can deal with F'd up more than evil...
Carry on...
(oh, and that Bry guy went off again last night, got called out on it, don't think he'll be able to post here for a while, FYI).

Dems stand for progressivism,
Dems stand for progressivism, moving forward, ex; taxing the uber rich to help pay for badly needed infrastructure,, the repubs are staunchly a'gin it. Leave our rich alone. Thats just the way it is, been that way my entire life,, how they get voted in, in poor red states just amazes me. Must be a lot of rich folk or dumbfucks in them poor red states.
Dems = Progress
repubs = Regress or keep the status quo
Reminder ->
Sen. Mitch McConnell Insists: One And Done For Obama
Boehner says his party's plan for the president's agenda is to 'kill it, stop it, slow it down."
And as far as the current white house -
Perhaps to remind people that, despite McConnell being an elected official ostensibly sent to D.C. to work on behalf of the Americans who pay his salary, he doesn’t give a fuck about anything but his own interests, McConnell on Wednesday told reporters that while he could spend his time helping to end the pandemic, or aiding the economic recovery, or stopping mass shootings, he’s actually got something else in mind: blocking Joe Biden’s entire agenda. “One hundred percent of my focus is standing up to this administration,” the Kentucky Republican said at a press conference in his state in response to questions about fighting among House Republicans. “
If his focus doesn't bother you,, shame on you.
Even with a few speed bumps, this is still the best political discussion here in a while,, good job folks.

For those still unable to understand the difference between the two major parties...
please consider the current 6-3 conservative majority on the Supreme Court, and the hundreds of other conservative judges appointed by the previous administration, and how this affects law and policy.
Now imagine a 6-3 liberal majority. Would have been nice.
Instead we get 20 years of conservative jurisprudence.
