Can't keep a good man down!

Atta' boy Phil.

A fun lineup, and I might be able to make this one!

Something tells me we'll see a few more shows as he ramps up his energy for maybe some makeup Halloween shows at the Cap and for whatever big deal he & Shappy are likely planning for his big 80th.

Keep on chooglin' Phil!

Nice way to wake up in FRANCE,

Phil is BACK!!!

Yes, Phil is back. I got in to last night's show, and enjoyed it thoroughly. After failing to get tickets in advance, I made a last minute decision at 7:30 to drive from Petaluma to San Rafael, equipped with a cardboard I Need A Ticket sign.  The sign is paramount. I never just walk around with a wookie finger in the air. That's lame and ineffective, especially for a man. I figured that out around spring tour 1983. The 1st person I showed the sign to last night had an extra to sell me. Lucky. Thanks, Danny! Got in just in time to buy Danny and myself a beer, and then the show started. I thought the music was very good. All excellent players in this band. 2nd set really pumped my gonads! Scarlet-Stephen-Help Slip Franklin's was a very nice GD fix, with Phil's wonderful familiar booming bass guitar hitting all the right spots. It was way more crowded in the Grate Room than it ever is for DNB, but it was a good scene and there was some room to groove. Glad I went. It's been a while. Phil said he would be hosting more of these little get togethers over the next few months. He also sang "If you get confused, listen to the music play". I did, and I did. Thank you, Phil!

Thanks for the review, Mr. Tofu Head. Sounds like (crowded) fun.

the music was way better thurs night then on Wed.  Phil was way more of a orchestrator and animated in a band leader-like way.  the heady marin crowd who occupy the front 500 sqr feet of the stage always make me laugh and there was enough pockets of space to hear well and enjoy

so nice to see Phil working his craft still

last night was a top notch Phil show, loved every second of it!

Phil looked and sounded great!

((( That's lame and ineffective, especially for a man. )))
