Jam Cruise leaves Anders and Friends behind

Forums:

Wow nice job JC, Anders was then stuck in MIAMI for 2 days!!! WTF He said he got a flight, finally this morning and was going straight to an AA metting and collecting his 9 year sobriety chip! CONGRATS ANDERS!!

FROM GEORGE PRTER JR's FB:

O' well today just sucked Ciara (my granddaughter and soon to be husband Charlie) left home at 4:30am for a 6am flight to Jam Cruise and found that the flight was grounded do to ice on runway. That's ok they put them on a flight at noon that really was a 7am flight that was also delayed till noon. Anyway they got on the noon flight with still a little more delay but did take off a little over a hour got to Miami at 4:15pm O' did I say that Anders was also on that noon flight the kids could have made it if they would have walked out and got into a cab, O' but no I told them to find Anders and stick with him because I knew Cloud9 was sending someone to get Anders and the boat would not leave a artist at the dock, wrong those kids and Anders was at the dock the boat was there for 8 minutes looking at them and pulled away, it broke my heart to see my baby girl at the dock and could not do anything to help I hate that feeling. gpjr

Am I taking crazy pills or did i not follow one word of what was said in that paragraph?

I read it and it made sense to me.

They all missed the boat. Wonder what cloud 9 has to say.

I knew what happened but as far as the paragraph goes I'd have agree it was really bad. Haha!

>>>>>>9 year sobriety chip

I bought him a Makers Mark 3 years ago

Maybe he means sober from heroin and whatever other trailer park drugs he was on.

Or maybe he accepted the drink and didn't drink it. I know I have done that with people over the years of my sobriety. Sometimes it is just easier to accept. At times people who buy drinks get upset if you don't accept it, no matter what the reason. I've told people that I am sober and have gotten in verbal battle with the buyer saying that "you can have just one" or "you are being stuck up for not drinking with me."

Very nice to break someone's anonymity who is a member of Alcoholic's Anonymous. I guess anonymous is a BIG word. Tool.

BTW even if he broke his anonymity himself, it's not yours to pass around. Tool.

weird thread.

^^ Your the Tool actually. Anders has been overtly open about his use and sobriety, get one of his albums and it will be really clear. tool  go back to bed

Innie drug use fight!

>>>>>>Your the Tool actually.

Actually it’s you’re.

I guess my last last sentence went over your little head.

left at the dock...too funny

Just as a point of record, anonymity, in the traditions of AA, pertains to the press, radio, TV and films only.

>>>>>>get one of his albums and it will be really clear

Yeah, not a very strong selling point for me.  Are all his songs about sobriety?  Sounds terrible.  He’s okay as Phil’s buttrock cover guy when Warrens unavailable though.

From Ander's wiki page:

Along the way, he also found time to write and record the next chapter in his still-unfolding career, Black Eye Galaxy, released in 2012. Recorded at the famed Dockside Studio in Maurice, Louisiana, Black Eye Galaxy was produced by Osborne along with engineer Warren Riker and Galactic's Stanton Moore. Sounds on the album range from heavy electric mayhem to acoustic melodicism. Blurt Magazine said, “Black Eye Galaxy is a work of art -- a throwback to the days before corporations completely controlled and corrupted media and culture. It is the struggle of a man to survive addiction and find some peace and redemption. Great art is not afraid to say something and take big risks. And on each work he does, Osborne grows as an artist. We are lucky to get a chance to witness this. The blues is about hard truth and healing. And to the extent he covers both; you could say he is a blues guy. Kudos must go to Alligator Records -- a great if not our greatest-blues label -- for letting Anders Osborne follow his vision, inspire us with his story and dazzle us with his craft. Black Eye Galaxy is a great album.”

yeah i get tired of the, "hey i used to be all fucked up" schpiel...

Yep, Jk's we'll known for his cat tats

It's true.

It reads: Cats Down Under the Stairs (he got a discount for the typo).

lol

next up Jerry's Tiger guitar on his lower back.

Any response from cloud 9? Not that I give a shit but it's always fun to poke.

i'd be annoyed if i just paid $$$$ for the custie cruise and one of my artists was left on the dock...

>>>next up Jerry's Tiger guitar on his lower back.

glad I'm not the only one who follows that 'Jk's phat cat tats' Instagram acct.

>>>>Or maybe he accepted the drink and didn't drink it.

no

He was just being polite.

The list of rock legends, that have contracted and spread Pneumonia on these rock cruises is astounding. Some fatally.

Good thread, this

>>>>>He was just being polite

he did say thank you

He acted in virtually an identical fashion the time I offered him a speedball

I went to a meeting and the speaker talked about how cool it was that Florence Welch was there the previous week.

Come to think about it, Anders will be in town within the next two days.  Kinda glad that he is less likely to bring a cruise ship bug with him.

Offer him a drink chased w a speedball and report back.

Just to let you all know

Anders Osborne > Joan Osborne fwiw

I was virtually lashed in a Sacramento newspaper recently for calling a guest columnists' peers "tools".

No one likes to be called a tool so I suppose he was right.

But so was I.

Fuckin' tool.

Fitzman used to call poor Streetvan a tool all the time.  He was pretty harsh.
