It's OCTOBER, what are you listening to?

Forums:

Besides Tom Petty, I mean.

Fela Kuti - Beasts of No Nation

Dream Syndicate, first album in 29 years, it's pretty damn good!

Have been enjoying various radio shows, playlists, etc.  I like a nice mixtape.  Listened to this yesterday, "All Things Must Pass" .  This platter playlists guy has quite a few nice listens.

Thelonious Monster - Baby...You're Bummin' My Life out in a Supreme Fashion

THE PHILLY SOUND  -  Kenny Gamble, Leon Huff & The Story Of Brotherly Love (1966-1976)

(HELL, YEAH!  Some of this  stuff goes back to when I had a transistor radio strapped to my butterfly handlebars.  Or under my pillow.  Or in the pocket of my Catholic school uniform with an ear-plug snaked up my shirt (until Catherine L_________ ratted me out  --  I'm sure the little fink grew up to be gorgeous).  Three discs/48 tracks/great articles/chart info.  An excellent package, overall.)

botb i already started an October thread already--- JERK !

Pure Jerry #9. Didn't know I had it but Air Drummer pointed it out. Sounds like they were having a lot of fun in 1978.

Plf9905, change your strain. These things happen.

I like that Rupa is using that Eric Drooker image.  Is that an official thing or just a poster somebody made?

plf, I didn't see your thread when i posted.  But I think you might be a little overinvested in it.  I am happy to migrate there, I just want to see what folks are listening to.

Dead Boys - Young Loud and Snotty  -- Cheetah Chrome and Johnny Blitz are doing a 40th Anniv tour and coming to our local.

^It's the CD cover art.

Any friend of Drooker is a friend of me.  His political posters were all over the LES back in the 80's, and he used to have a lot of work in World War 3 Illustrated.  Does a lot of New Yorker covers.  Married to an old friend of mine, though I have never met him.

More Drooker, apparently you can't post more than one photoeric drooker 1.jpg

Thanks for posting Eric Drooker's art, botb, I haven't seen it before. It is definitely reminiscent of older work (like from the WPA) that I really like/love.

You can post multiple images but I think it's harder from a phone.

What's the size limit now judit?drum-circle.jpg

My faveEric-Drooker-6 (1).jpg

I love the one above your fave. I like that one, not the subject matter. I really like the style of his work. I used to do a lot of carving (linoleum, wood, rubber) for printing and it's a look I'm very attached to.

1000 x 1000 per image and it will automatically resize to that.

I think you can insert one image, then just do the same process to do more.
