Iron Maiden just announced a 2019 North American tour. In my top 20 bands of all time but never seen them before and they are playing Portland on my birthday! Stoked.
Just saw that announcement and am looking forward to hitting one of the northeast shows. I had the good fortune of seeing these guys open for Judas Priest - Fall '82. Maiden was touring Number of the Beast and Priest was touring Screaming for Vengeance. I caught them again in January 1986. One of my pals from the long ago high school days caught them last time in Brooklyn and said the are still delivering the Heavy Metal Goods!
Possibly bring my kids to Hartford. It might help explain my patched jean jacket and the faded Maiden stickers on my drum pads that I made in 7th grade shop class.
I saw them in 1983 on the Piece of Mind tour when I was in 8th grade, Quiet Riot opened. It was my 3rd concert and it was epic. They were my favorite band at the time
i saw them in '87 or '88. GnR were supposed to open for them but their first album had just taken off, so they dropped out of the tour. LA Guns opened instead and were horrible.
Maiden was pretty good, thou. i'm not a metal fan.
