Iraq to USA: GTFO of here

Forums:

Apparently the Iraqi’s are pissed because our government used them to lure Soleimani into a fake-peace meeting so they could kill him. So now, they want everyone out. Can’t really blame them at this point.

Here is the Iraqi PM:

“I received a phone call from @realDonaldTrump when the embassy protests ended thanking the government efforts and asked Iraq to play the mediator's role between US and Iran” Iraqi PM said.

“But at the same time American helicopters and drones were flying without the approval of Iraq, and we refused the request of bringing more soldiers to US embassy and bases” iraqi PM said.

“I was supposed to meet Soleimani at the morning the day he was killed, he came to deliver me a message from Iran responding to the message we delivered from Saudi to Iran” Iraqi PM said.

DOH!

Good.   We have no business over there to begin with.

Heard Lil Marco has a plan to move all the troops to the Kurdish region under the umbrella of a independent Kurdistan.

Yep, now US Customs are not letting Iranians and Iranian-Americans in the US for any reason.

They detained over 60 in Washington state (border) after going to a pop concert in Vancouver.

Jfc!

Iran and Iraq fought an eight-year war.  Now Iraqis mourn an Iranian general's demise.

Trump:  The Great Unifier.

< good we have no business being there >

Roosevelt argued that the isolationist fantasy of the nation as a safe oasis in a world dominated by fascist terror, evoked for the overwhelming majority of Americans not a dream, but a "nightmare of a people without freedom.  People lodged in prison, handcuffed, hungry, and fed through the bars from day to day by the contemptuous, unpitying masters of other continents."

Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it

Hey we dont deserve Iraq's or any nations hospitality under this asshole they call our prez. I'm surprised we're welcome anywhere.

We have no business over there to begin with.<<<<<

THIS !! !

Fought for 8 years but we took them out in a few days. Ran that fuck Saddam Hussein out. The world was a better place.

If iran couldn't win against iraq for 8 years and we took out Iraq so quickly it isn't saying much about irans military threat. Lol

LOOK Mr Regurgitate Toughie Greg !no

Fought for 8 years but we took them out <<<< what was Your Role in that ?

It’s not really his fault. Gregulator is just your typical 80s-90s era deadhead.

That right there pretty much demonstrates he’s a good and obedient German.

SEND IN STORMIN' NORMAN! yesyes

>>> If iran couldn't win against iraq for 8 years and we took out Iraq so quickly it isn't saying much about irans military threat. Lol <<<

Is this a no biggie, no need to ring any alarms, nothing to see here type situation Gregulator?

Greg thinks ISIS made the world a better place.

>>>>f iran couldn't win against iraq for 8 years and we took out Iraq so quickly it isn't saying much about irans military threat

Iran knows it would be quickly defeated in a conventional war against the United States.   That is why any retaliation will likely be the form of bombings, sabotage, assassination, hit and run attacks by its proxies, and the typical stuff it has been up to for decades.

Atiex my brother took saddam international but he was killed. Special forces. .

Bluesnote you're dumb

I never trolled any of you assholes

Ken thanks for keeping it real. Even keeled as usual

Plf you can fuck right off while you're at it

The fact is they can vote to kick out USA but if the United States leaves then NATO leaves and even in iraq it takes parliament to decide that.  so the anti USA threats are just lip service.

The US never won the war in Iraq. Toppling Saddam was just getting rid of the pesky ex-CIA operative/collaborator who wasn't playing ball anymore. Since then, Iraq has been in a constant state of war and destruction for oh, what is it, 18 years now? Now, IMO, the goal was never to win. The goal is to keep the military industrial machine alive, shady contracts to Blackwater, Dick Cheney Halliburton rebuilding, that kind of stuff. That's what keeps the money flowing and keeps the US economy afloat. In that sense, the Iraq war was a huge success.

< ex-CIA operative/collaborator >

HW's good buddy, served his masters well. Kept in power after the 1st Gulf war to keep the Shiites at bay, then bit the biscuit for jr gw, on the yellowcake wmd hoax. Now this fucking asshole stump starting the next round.  Don't ya just Love them republikan administrations ?

Saddam had filled many mass graves.  The people of iraq were happy to see him go.he was a brutal murderous dictator. An old friend of mine , a wine store owner, had duel citizenship and couldn't stop thanking the US for the chance to dip his finger in that ink and vote. He proudly left the ink stain on his finger for a while afterward just in hopes to be able to tell how important it was to him . And how thankful he and his family were for the Americans. Saddam brutalized his people

^ mission accomplished, right? lol.

sounds like corporate media circa 2004.

< The people of iraq were happy to see him go. >

Not to mention the Iranians

< Saddam brutalized his people >

His brutality to Iraqi Shiites was 2nd to none. After his demise, many Sunni besides him felt their wrath.

Turtle my brother died in iraq. Seems like alot of people actually thanking my family for the loss. I did post earlier you probably didn't read.

So maybe you should rethink what you wrote since im independent like ken. Unless he's a corporate dem too. I just think you're mixed up.

Plus I never said anything against you either.

..and heat I think it's cute that you could possibly think I agree with that. Adorable,  really.

Other than that you're pretty alright

US military mistakenly circulates letter suggesting they'd remove US troop from Iraq

Washington (CNN)The top US general said Monday a letter suggesting the US would withdraw troops from Iraq was released by mistake and poorly worded, telling reporters "that's not what's happening."

Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley sought to address the confusion that began after the leak of aletter to the Iraqi government from US Command in Baghdad suggesting US troops would be withdrawn from the country.

"That letter is a draft. It was a mistake, it was unsigned, it should not have been released ... (it was) poorly worded, implies withdrawal, that is not what's happening," Milley said.

"It's an honest mistake ... it should not have been sent," he added.

Gold Star Memories  -  Not Fade Away

greg you make me want to fucking puke

Greg you set the tone for pushback before you told us about your brother,

you do know that right?

Also why make reference to how even keeled Ken is, then equate yourself being an independent like Ken?

F'n strange maaan.

Well I call myself an independent but my entire adult life Ive voted democrat. I just always considered myself open minded ...but honestly I saw ken stated he was independent and because I was being attacked for nothing I was hoping id get a little respect like ken gets... who was my vote for zoty

But tod push back doesn't equate to the personal attacks.  Even you can see that.  And I didn't attack anyone just provided input that some people didn't like.

And thank you ras

Daylight i hope you barf

Just a year younger than me we were very close growing up..

And I am very proud to be related and for all he did. and yes turtle very thankful to him and all those serving.  I let them know every time I see someone in uniform

Also just because I believe saddam was a bad guy doesn't mean I think we should have been in iraq at all, I don't and hes gone because of that bullshit. It's just all this recent stuff brings it all back not that it ever went away.

I just remember people dancing in the streets in jubilation the day the saddam statue came down that's the day scott died .and if we have to leave that's fine. We gave the people the voice and If now they want us to go and their parliment votes for It hen that's exactly what we should do.

My point was basically saying iran struggled with iraq and im not worried about that match up. And we could run this regime right out like we did with saddams regime back In 03.If we wanted to. Democratic iran?

Its china that runs irans oil fields for the most part and they have vested interest..that is a bigger problem but kind od tied into the iran thing.

Thank you for that mice.really.

>>>>>My point was basically saying iran struggled with iraq and im not worried about that match up. And we could run this regime right out like we did with saddams regime back In 03.If we wanted to. Democratic iran?

You're ok if more people die because you think wars are matchups like sports. Dork.

The Secret CIA History of the Iran Coup, 1953

This extremely important document is one of the last major pieces of the puzzle explaining American and British roles in the August 1953 coup against Iranian Premier Mohammad Mossadeq.  Written in March 1954 by Donald Wilber, one of the operation's chief planners, the 200-page document is essentially an after-action report, apparently based in part on agency cable traffic and Wilber's interviews with agents who had been on the ground in Iran as the operation lurched to its conclusion.

And I love Jimmy Carter but his biggest fuck up by far was allowing the Shah in - then keeping the half billion in Iranian gold (the bribe to let him in), once we showed him the door. Of course since we put the Shah in power in the 1st place, Jimmy must have felt an obligation to him, but he should have returned the money.

They hate us cuz we been fucking Iran for a long time. Our involvement in Iraq is equally shameful.

Sorry these should have gone in the Death To US thread

Keep up the good work my good man

50 billion barrels of oil in southern Iran.

Iran discovers new oil field with over 50 billion barrels

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran has discovered a new oil field in the country’s south with over 50 billion barrels of crude, its president said Sunday, a find that could boost the country’s proven reserves by a third as it struggles to sell energy abroad over U.S. sanctions.

The announcement by Hassan Rouhani comes as Iran faces crushing American sanctions after the U.S. pulled out of its nuclear deal with world powers last year.

why? they are the ones who decided to strap on a gun, get on a plane to the middle east and fight in these wars.

why is free will suddenly off the table when it comes to servicemen and women? they have brains, free will and the ability to read and think for themselves.

if i am against the wars, wouldnt i also be opposed to the troops who choose to fight in them?

Agreed to some extent of what you say daylight.

There's also a social-economic draft going on as we speak.

People see the promises of a "future" (healthcare, education and a paycheck) due to the lack of jobs because the farm or factory, coal mine etc are not available.

Not the same options as it may for say you or I.

Way different than the 60's and 70's.

Just no options.

i had no options when i left school, i chose to struggle for a decade, lived in my car or literal sheds for years until i found an industry that would have me, instead of signing up to destabilize the world in exchange for personal benefit.

"hey ill give you a great job and future if you just kill these children"

"no thank you"

pretty simple imo. personal enrichment in the face of poverty does not trump basic morality.

Good for you man...

And I agree 100%, I just don't think they're a lot people that can see it as clearly as you do.

But it's a huge factor nonetheless.

Don't you work in a commercial cannabis industry? I'm wondering how you reconcile participating in a system by which a good portion of the revenue generated is appropriated directly to raid and prosecute non participants?

Serious question, not a judgment or an attack.

At 17, I didn't have the worldview of "destabilizing the world in exchange for personal benefit". I understood military service as participation in democracy, giving in the spirit of volunteerism, and actively participating in homeland defense. At 40, I still believe that. I have also learned how easily that narrow view is hijacked by those who count the money. This is why our military recruits 17 year olds rather than 27 year olds. I know I never killed any kids. Sure did grow weed just about the entire time though, whenever it was possible for me to do so. Didn't consume too much. Saw plenty of shows too. Maybe that gives you some perspective, daylight. Respect.

>if i am against the wars, wouldnt i also be opposed to the troops who choose to fight in them?<

well you see, that is too binary of an approach. to some extent yeah, sure.... my dad was in vietnam, and did it out of a sense of duty to ones country, which....in it's core is a good noble thing. however, like bss stated, many of that age have yet to wrap their brains around the world power structure and are so indoctrinated in the nationalistic propaganda that we are constantly bombarded with.

however, at voter reg. age, i was the only one in our class to NOT choose dem or republican. i chose "peace and freedom", because by that time, with my gd/psychedelic exposure, i knew what was up...or at least somewhat. our teacher was an ex marine sergeant and loved my independence at the time....

Lots of folks in Vietnam were also drafted, which is flat out slavery, and probably another conversation altogether.

>> Lots of folks in Vietnam were also drafted, which is flat out slavery, <<

Not to mention a really bad political move and is why we'll prolly never have one.

Because they don't have to as long as they keep their social-economic draft going.

>>>>Not to mention a really bad political move and is why we'll prolly never have one

True.   Although I was only a small child during the Vietnam War, I suspect that the strong resistance to the war as it dragged on had a lot to do with the fact that young people were getting shipped off to die in the jungles of SE Asia against their will.

Even if a full blown war with Iran erupts, don't see a draft happening.

It wouldn’t be just a bad political move; but without including women it would probably be unconstitutional at this point. I believe the legal test would first probably have to come by way of some sort of congressional act requiring women to register for the selective service, and that’s highly unlikely.

A draft would be a great idea and the extended families of Senators, Representatives, the President and his cabinet should be the first taken.

Good point Bss.

Nobody can be an isolationist when we have global climate change and ICBMs.

Doesn't mean we get to throw our weight around like we own the place.

Its like if the house down the street is beating the kids and wife or whatever.  You would do something.  I know I would.  And others who bravely run into conflict to fight evil are heroic and deserve respect.

the USA became the world's police and generally speaking we help where and when we can. We aren't perfect but the free world looks to us(nato)to be the good guys so when there Is genocide happening somewhere in the world like Bosnia back in the day or other brutal dictatorships like the nazis we have to stand up to it. Someone has to.
